Noob to bov

ok guys i have a 2008 cobalt ss. Im looking to get new charge piping for her. so i decide to go with Dejon charge piping also with a new HKS blow off but i have a couple questions. One, they say you have to put a block off plate on the stock BPV. is this true? Two, where might i get one of these? and last Three, someone said i could probaly just not put the block off plate on and use both the BOV and the BPV just for added protection for the turbo. If anyone know any of these questions and can help THANK YOU!

You mean relocate the MAF sensor.

A lot of people have too many headaches trying to make a BOV work on these cars. They are a pain to tune for and people end up reverting back to a stock setup.

Don't get me wrong, it has been done successfully and those people love them, but it's mostly a waste of time and money for a "cool sound" that you can get with a Forge BPV and a SRI.

Poop i really dont want a headache so far she has been good to me and nothing has went wrong. but do you know if i could put both on the car without any problems? Some guy close to me put his on and didnt put the block plate on for like a week it sounded really good but right when he put the block plate on it sounded like the turbo was spinning backwards after he reved it. Idk what thats called. then took the block plate off and ran it again and it was fine. Is it safe to keep mine that way also?

I've tuned quite a few that ran fine with them. The MAF relocate does make it better and I would do the Block Off Plate. I have heard of people leaving the BPV guts in and just taking the Vac Line off also. I haven't tried that myself.

BOVs are a headache, for a nice sound go with a SRI and forge BPV like they said ^^^^^ easy set up and no crazy tuning required. That what I am running and love it

The Forge bpv is a metal higher quality version of what's in our cars. Sounds nice and loud when used with an intake.

Almost no problems with them either, except people that installed them wrong.

Well the K&N SRI will need a tune eventually but it's not 100% necessary.

you should be fine for awhile if you run without a tune.
