oil capacity...
did an oil change... jacked the car up just enough to get it on my stands and so my pan fit under, let it continue to drain with the oil filter cap and oil fill cap off and untill it was barely dripping like i have with every other vehicle. replaced filter/cap, put drain plug back in and added 4.5qts of oil to start... now its showing over the top line... wtf, i thought these engines took 5qts...
No big deal. Always fire up the engine and let it warm up a couple mins before getting your final reading on oil level.
I changed mine the other day and after putting in 5qts, the level was at the last notch before the crosshatched area at the top of the dipstick. I had bought one of the new 5.1qt containers, so I added the extra .1qt and it was right at the top of the crosshatch.

When you do an oil and filter change, you're draining the oil from the oil filter housing as well.
Always fire up the engine before checking the oil level to prime the oil filter.
