Oil leaking

Is it common for the lnf to leak around the head gasket or valve cover.. I was cleaning my engine bay and noticed there was oil leaking from the right side of the motor, this is the first ive noticed it

I got mine fixed at the dealer under bumber to bumber, maybe its covered under 100k powertrain, looks like they just put on a new gasket and some type of silicone sealer.

oh there is a whole thread about this, this issue plauged pretty much all lnf engines. i forget what the thread is but alot of guys had to take it apart and fix it themselves cause the way the dealer did it only worked for a bit but maybe they wised up by now. that falls under power train warrenty.

but do you think the dealership would try and say that the aftermarket piping has something to do with it

they shouldn't, there's a TSB out for this, if you tell them to look it up they should be able to find it. I know its on the site here somewhere, you should find the TSB number so you can take it with you.

The issue was actually the cam endplate. The stock seal on the LNF was junk. There's a write-up on how to fix it. It's easy to do yourself if you want to avoid the warranty-*****.

Found it: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/how-...-leaks-189081/

There are 2 leaks that typically occur. Camshaft seals and the high pressure fuel pump. I had both, and since it's been fixed, my oil leaks stopped. I had just the tiniest bit of seepage from the camshaft actuators, which I replaced since I swapped my valve cover, so now it's all buttoned up.

FYI, you can lookup TSBs right here on CSS. It's a very nice feature that Internet Brands added.
