I was the test car for them here are some pics, the price is good and the service is good too. Its actually Vulcanturbo.com that makes them, I also have their exhaust and I love it, not loud but a little more deep tone when getting on it.

Would changing the piping void any warranty in any way?

Nothing SHOULD void your warrenty unless the part you changed is what caused the problem. Every dealer is different in how they look at warrenty and aftermarket parts but you can always fight them. There is a sticky under the general cobalt topic of this site.

Yes I know if the aftermarket part caused the problem, then its not covered under warranty but could changing the piping cause any issues that anybody is aware of?

Thanks

None that I can think of specifically. It works no different than the stock piping just made of metal and not plastic. Now if the aftermarket charge piping comes loose and breaks something (doubtful) then yes they could void the warrenty. I don't see anything major happing even if something does go wrong with it. It's just a bunch of pipes lol.

nah man, synapse/hahn, ect ect have all made charge piping work good for them, without a tune.........wat u will notice is that there won't be any peak torque or power gains from the mods without a proper tune, HOWEVER u can and will notice some bottom-mid gains from most bolt on power parts or power supporting parts. You'll probably notice better spooling time and that is the bottom-mid range gains i was talking about, just 50x better with a tune

Thanks for the response guys. I just wanted to be sure that if I do change it, I won't have to worry about warranty issues for my turbo because I changed piping since it is connected to the turbo.

Thanks

if anything it helps the turbo by keeping it in the effiecency range
increased flow of turbo system = better turbo performance

What is really the difference between the stock charge piping and aftermarket? To me, the piping in these pics looks the same as stock.

So besides that being the difference, is there really any reason to change it on the stock turbo?

It keeps air cooler better. um i've heard the stock piping is very restrictive and you get better response with the aftermarket piping.

That's nice to hear. I was gonna order my catless DP at the end of the month and the charge piping around the middle of March for my B-day.

if you are trying to stay cheap for a while get the turbo to cooler pipe, it gets rid of the restriction (pancake pipe)

With as poorly as the factory IC tubing holds up, I would hope GM wouldn't void your warranty for switching to aftermarket. It's bad enough that it should almost be a recall.

only if you're a fool. You can find them around $300 if you are smart or get in on a group buy when available

just to add another good affect that is had when moving from the rubber pipes our car comes with is that rubber expands under boost and especially under heavy throttle when the turbo just starts making boost. the metal pipes do not expand and therefore will help build boost faster. this increase in response time is not really that noticeable though but it is there.
