Your actuator took a **** or the actuator solenoid?

^Actuator, or actuator solenoid valve?

I was able to measure the resistance on the intake solenoid and it's 24ohms. I'll go get a new one today.

I just has mine replaced this morning at the dealer. Not in warranty unless you have your 3 year 36000 mile bumper to bumper. I didn't have that, costed $247 and some change. They said if I didn't get it fixed it would cause starting issues and lead it to not start later down the road.

For the record my code was P0013, essentially the same thing. Different section I think.

i believe the P0013 is the exhaust side? but yes...same thing. Was yours the solenoid valve or the actuator?

mine seems to run fine when driving normal. but under load or in any boost it doesn't run right. I dont spool till way late...like 6000rpms to reach 20 psi

The actuator solenoid that sits on top of the engine near the passenger side. P0011 code. The feedback position sensor on the end of the camshaft (drivers side) was fine.

I am reading on another site that someone with a Malibu had this issue and the vavle was covered under the powertrain warranty, anyone else have experience with this? This was the post from a "Customer Service" person:

@Sorb555, here is some information as to what the Powertrain Warranty should cover for your 2008 Chevrolet Malibu.

Gasoline engines - Cylinder Block and heads, and all internal parts, intake manifold, timing gears, timing gear chain or belt and cover, flywheel, harmonic balancer, valve covers, oil pan, oil pump, engine mounts, seals, and gaskets, water pump; also turbocharger and supercharger housings and internal parts, valves, seats, and gaskets.

Transmission - Case and all internal parts, torque converter, vacuum modulator, seals and gaskets and transmission mounts, also transfer case and all internal parts, seals and gaskets.

Front Wheel Drive - Final drive housing and all internal parts, axle shafts, constant velocity joints, front hub bearings, seals and
gaskets.

If you need further assistance please, don’t hesitate to contact me.

Michelle, Chevrolet Customer Service

Supposed to be the same for all 1993 through 2009 cars. I don't really see where the part falls in, unless it's an internal part of the head? Looks like the valves has to do with the turbo/supercharger?

Update!!!!

Took me long enough haha i have been super busy so it took awhile.

Anyway, what turned out to be the problem was my lack of knowledge. I recently rebuilt my engine myself and in doing that i wasn't aware that the camshaft actuator bolts (the ones that hold the cam gear to the cam) were "torque to yield" bolts, meaning they are one time use. So i used the old ones and what had happened is the intake bolt had backed its way out and the cam gear (actuator) was wobbly, thus causing an intermittent DTC. This probably isnt going to be a common problem for normal "simple bolt on" cobalts. More common would be the solenoid valve going bad...which that in itself isn't very common.

Been driving it for 3 days and no CEL has come on and the car runs better. Need to hook up the car with HPT to make sure everything is good.
