p0138!
YAY im soooo excited. I got my first CEL code. p0138.
I have a CIA 3" stainless steel downpipe with high flow cat. I dont have a tune. but I threw this O2 sensor code awesome. What do you guys think it is? burned out sensor? or clogged cat? better not be, lol.

please enlighten me about your mouse hypothesis. I wanna see where you mind is going with this...
Its a burned out sensor. I already know that. If you know the way CIA designed this DP, then you would know there's no possible way a mouse could have done anything to my sensor. CIA stated that their DP does not throw a code, yet here I am stating the opposite. I just wanna know what some fixes were for other who got the DP. Did you just clear the code and ignore it? did you buy a new sensor? Did you bring your car into the dealer and listen to them bitch about you putting a DP on your car?
Im guessing aftermarket DPs have a faster/hotter exhaust flow and that burns out these cheapo sensors. How much is a new sensor? Bousch make a good one?

here's the basic idea, and it has nothing to do with the dp. First thing to check is to make sure all the wires are connected. Get under the car, and check the rear 02 sensor. one or more of the 4 wires may be disconnected. Many times when we change exhaust parts that require re-moving the 02 sensors, we string them back up too tightly. Normal engine movement will be pulling on the wires, while they are secured in place with not enough room to move. That would be the first move. Second, check your fuse. Third, check your harness to make sure it's not banged up or has wires cut/missing.
You can keep that code forever, or have it turned off with hptuners, or try to figure out where the problem is. But the code won't affect how the car operates in the least, it's just an emmisions thing.

Before you take it out, I would check the wiring. Could very well save a few steps since that's the most likely problem.

question is, how often is it the wiring for everyone? has their been many cases in which wiring was stretched or torn? I guess I wont know until it stops raining so I'll ignore the code. Does the oxygen sensor at all effect gas mileage? or is that in my head?

I haven't got any sort of cat code yet, this DP was designed extremely well. The one thing I did notice when installing the DP is that when you remove the DP the O2 sensor pigtail gets twisted up pretty good if you don't disconnect it. Also that heat shield that the sensor sits behind has some pretty sharp edges. Either a bad sensor or the harness is cut or not connected properly, hope it's the latter.

Its probably your high-flow cat... i had one on a dakota and when i drove harder than usual... like going over 3k till i shifted... the CEL would come on with that code, then after like a day or two of driving casually the code left...
just my two cents :]

The PCM on the untuned LNF hates life. DP and CAI will trip a CEL.

If there is any change in the flow of the exhaust it can trip the downstream O2 sensor. It wont make the car drive any differently, however stareing at a CEL is annoying as ****.
I have my downstream O2 sensor completly unplugged and put a wideband in its place. Of course, my stage 1 PCM disables the O2 sensor to begin with so its not a huge deal anyway. I dont throw a cel, but I always have the same exact heater bank code.

OKay, very strange. The code decided to leave yesterday afternoon, havent gotten the code back again. Im thinking since its been raining so much lately, water must have gotten somewhere it wasnt suppose too and was shorting the O2 sensor. Yesterday I had a 12 hour shift at work and when I got out and started the car, the code was gone. Very strange.
lol, I was gonna lie and come on here talking about a mouse stuck in my DP...
