P0236

F'in %!@%!

My car drives along fine for months, no problems.

All of the sudden limp mode, P0236, car doesn't boost past 4 psi

I used to be able to turn the car off, etc, and the problem would go away....

and come back again weeks later.

Now, it's permanently on. Had my friend clear the code, car drove fine for a day. Turned the car off, and came back to it a couple of days later, and the car again goes into limp mode.

Does any one know why the car is doing this?

i doubt it's a boost leak, what's with all the talk about boost leaks anyway?

what about a valve on the turbocharger being stuck open?

boost leak. I doubted it too. crack in the charge piping or intercooler. Check the vacuum hose that attaches to the lower charge pipe by the MAP sensor.

No, it IS a boost leak. Guaranteed. You need to do a boost leak test. I wrote a DIY that's on here somewhere. Search for it.
