Pacesetter Header Install Cost Issue??

Ok I went to go get quoted on a install for the pacesetter header I just received in the mail and the guy told me that they had to take the cat off install the header and tune the car afterwards. He told me the cat was going to stay off. 2 questions someone please help, he said after the Tune the check engine light will stay off with no cut because he said it will be running clean enough to avoid the light. Also one more thing he said it would be $1150.00 Dollars does this sound reasonable for the work he is doing?? 2 Questions here please. Thank you so much in advance.

1. You don't remove the cat you remove the flex pipe on whatever dp you have, stock or aftermarket. The pacesetter has a ball pivot that serves as the flex pipe.
2. If he tells you that your car won't throw a code catless he is a moron and should be working on model cars in his mothers basement instead.
3. A tune isn't necessary but you will reap the most benefit from the modification if you get it tuned.
4. 1,150 to install a header. LMFAO. Nuff said.

Thats weird I just called him back and asked him if he was 100% sure it would not throw a code, I wonder why he would say that the shop is well known and they would have to make it not throw a code if it did, that would just be unethical.

If he's so certain that it won't throw a code he will probably use HPT to disable the code so it won't come up. What's unethical is that he isn't telling you that and you could get fined lots of $$$ if it was found out.

Yea if you got the header installed and tuned I would say 450 MAX.
They will have to weld a flange to where they cut the flex pipe off, and some of the bolts are a complete bitch, so I'll give them that.
