Port injection: 100% meth vs. C16

for the LNF engine:


You are running 93 octane gas driving around town, until you hit a certain high boost.....which will activate your secondary injectors to start spraying.

let's say you have a SEPERATE TANK that supplies fuel to your secondary injectors on your manifold.......which would you rather spray: 100% meth or C16?


what are your technical reasoning behind your choice?

which will help increase power?

I say c 16. To me meth really dont add much power and you can only spray so much. With c16 you can actually use to adjust air fuel ratios and say with all the new things vince has have the di system kind of act as the back up and have c16 being sprayed in as the majority of the fuel to get that octane up there a bit. Dont know if that makes sense or not, it does in my head lol.

There is a pontiac lemans running this type of setup with the dual injection. Theee is video of it on YouTube and info on the setup online. He is running c16 as the secondary fuel I believe, I'm not sure which I would run.

cmiller8006 - as i remember on your record times you were spraying a 50/50 of meth and water am i correct? You must have picked up power. You trapped almost 118mph! I have seen TCs with this *****-to the wall combo tune trap 115, 116 at most.

Did you ever try a 100% meth mix?

100% meth has to give you more access to power via turning up the timing at least.

It works on every other car, subaru, direct injection bmws, evos, nissans, the physics aren't different for our car - it has to provide big power gains.

If i remember nobody on this site has tried a TC with a 100% meth mix yet. To get big power you need to run 75% or above.

With our fuel pressure/fuel system issues to get TONS of power.............I'm not sure if adding PURE METH or C16 race gas via secondary fuel injectors will solve the problem.

I'm not interested with 50/50 water/meth mix spray (I already have it)....since that will not help adding more fuel....
It will help with cooling air/fight some detonation. But adding more fuel, will not be its purpose for LNF.

I did run run meth. I just think if your going to run a secondary on the car you could say put 750cc injectors there and spray c16 and then the di barely has to work. Its just my opinion that c16 in this case would be better.

These are my testing results: (early summer day 70*)

Gained 19 WHP - 80%Meth @ 20psi (93 Gas)
Gained 28 WHP - 100%Meth @ 22psi (93 Gas)
Gained 36 WHP - 88% Meth/12% Nitro methane @ 24psi (VP 100)
Gained 43 WHP - 73%Meth/ 27%Nitro methane @ 24psi (pulled timing 4*) (VP100)
but after pulling the timing 5-7* on my tune, I got as high as 51WHP using 70%Meth/ 30%Nitro methane - I've stop using that setup for the fear of shooting massive flames on the streets & machine gun noise "Crackel & POP, POP, POP, POP".. & money!!

FYI: a nitro mix 28% or higher got me five burnt O2 sensors and massssive fire *****. After the testing was done, found the lower charge pipe got a little eaten from the meth/nitro mix when the nozzle jet leaked..

UPDATE: I got a few PM's today about this, YOU NEED TO BE TUNED to run with 73%Meth/ 27%Nitro methane mix!! If its not tuned properly, you run the risk of engine demo!!
