I should invest in new axles and start selling those LOL!

so far on my LNF tuning I have left the max boost in 1st gear low, like it was from the factory.

I don't have a saved log to look at but the MAX IDC I saw was 34-35%.

Even with a solid upper, and stickier tires...1st is next to impossible to launch.

damn these heavy feets of mine.

Basically I was asking if you think the stock cooling system is up to the task or beating the snot out of the car still with this awesome tune

On a 1/4 mile track yes. I have tested the car up to 110mph and only 135* IAT2 (20 above ambient). As for circuit track and LONG multilap races, NO. If you watched the TV Show "SETUP" you will see that only 1 car survived on stock tuning without a blown motor in some way.

Also Bondurant Racing School bought ~30 Solstice GXPs and supped them up for their racing school. They negotiated a Buyback from GM on those. Probably for those reasons.

Please don't beat on your car like it is a toy. They WILL blow up. Anyone who knows forced induction can tell you. Time under pressure, is time out of the hourglass.

Oh I don't romp on my car like a moron.

That is what the bike is for

But basically, just wondering where your thoughts were on the car's cooling system and such.

Setup was an awesome show...missed a lot of the season with the GXP though...

I ran my car at PIR with a 2.6" pulley, 4 heats of 20 laps each. At the end of the 20 laps, my intake temps would be like 20-30 degrees higher than the first lap. You spend a surprisingly little time at WOT on a road coarse, intake heat isn't that big of a problem. Its really drag racing, and seriously highway runs it the real killer. My car would probably still be running now if I didn't do the numerous 150 mph runs back to back to back.

Define beating on it, I mean I ride normally around 50-80, and WOT at times, but never hit over 120 MPH, do you mean driving it like you stole it?

True that the highway runs are what killed your motor. I know your motor was tuned well, it was just the heat that killed it.

You should have watched the show to see how they blew them up. Some didn't even survive into 20 laps.

that's the truth! and if you do it even with your new motor, the same thing will eventually happen. So don't do it! :p

Well, you can either drive it like you stole it, or probably worse would be pushing it above 120 mph (on an LSJ). the time spent in boost to reach 150mph is crazy!

don't take it from 40-140 back to back!

going WOT a few times a day is fine, just don't do it all the time every day.

OK but the LSJ/LNF have same block and other items, and the GXP have LNF's, so what your saying pertains to any car.

Good call, it pertains even more so to the LSJ.

But it's so worth it!

Looks like I will be dropping another $1,100.00 on credits for HPtuners in the next day or so. :-(

Also, you could pop your computer out of the car and ship it to me. But I know you'd hate to not drive it for a week and a half.

FINAL STATEMENT: Neither the LSJ or LNF are decent motors from the factory. Compared to the RB26DETT, 2JZGTE, or 4G63, the ecotec family of motors (in stock form) are pieces of ****. End of story. If you want to make a lot of power, with an ecotec, your looking to spend A LOT of money, unlike with the other motors listed above. Just how it is. The stock LSJ blows up at ~300-350 whp, the LNF might last a little longer than that, and the LE5 is a little less strong, while the L61 is a joke. 4G63 stock bottom end can handle 450-500 whp, RB26DETT can take up to 800 hp on stock long block, many stock long block 2JZGTE's have made 800+ whp. Not comparable. Don't bring size into it either. LE5 = 2.4L, RB26DETT = 2.6L. Thats only a .2L difference.
This has got to be the most arrogant, incorrect, and horribly miscompared thing I've heard anybody say in a very, very long time. You need to shut up, fast.
