question about our motor

I here up before fast and furious when 5.9's pulled the road. I even had a blown h/c and 6psi charged GT. THEN LATER I.GOT A talon 97 TSI less HP and tq than the cobalt TC but why did that car keep pulling hard deep into the redline while the cobalt being over 6K fall on its face. I love the torque but miss that pull all the way deep into the8k plus redline zone. Being a body and paint guy and more on V8 motors I wanted a mechanical opinion

because you went past the efficiency for the stock turbo. after 6k (correct me if im wrong) its at 100% efficiency, any higher and you lose power.

Your question has been answered in the previous post...but I don't get this *deep into redline* stuff. The car with a tune is FU$$KN FAST period. Who gives a **** about what it does (stock turbo) over 6000rpm..other than 160 MPH? I would simply say..have ya done a 60-100 pull lately?

im wit this guy... but i guess OP shouldnt buy a diesal because they dont make power over 4200 rpm tops lolll. welcome to domestic cars. we dont need a 12,000 rpm range to make power. if u want that go buy a s2k or rotary. kbye

You want it to keep pulling past 6k? Put springs in it and swap a bigger turbo.

/thread.

Sorry 5.0 didn't spell check. I have done a pull in 2nd and third just like that longer powerband when your up in the triple digits. I traded some low end for alot more on top for the long backroads and late nite highway runs. My V8 doesn't peak till 6600 or so. Goptta finish the tune. Just like the low end outta the Cobalt but a few extra rpm especially if I take it to the track, less shifting and mean a 1/th ot mor thats why my TA is setup ti stay on 3rd and not use 4th in the 1/4.

Why would you not want to use 4th in the 1/4?

Says in your sig you don't have GMS1 yet. I just upgraded a few weeks ago and I love it, 60lbs more tq you definitly notice. Once off warranty custom tune and bolt on's. Your set for a good daily driver.

lol 4th gear makes more torque than 3rd gear... just sayin.

If you want a car that you don't need to shift with in the 1/4 buy an automatic.
