honeslty as much as ppl say to big an intercooler will hurt performance thats not to true lol... the average person will not notice the difference in spool up...

as a rule of thumb just go wit the biggest intercooler u can fit with out hindering flow to the radiator.... but dont be dumb lol.. u dont honeslty need a 5 row intercooler wit 3.5in piping...

To big of an intercooler is worthless. More pressure drop and more lag. Get one sized to your horsepower goals. I know a good real cheap brand. hold on

i was going with cxr since i heard they are the best bang for the buck. and really cheap. its Overall Size: 29x11x3 inch with 2.5 piping seems sufficient to me. but then again i have been known to be wrong.

Those are list prices. A shop who supplies Yonaka can get them for about half of list or less. Had one on my 240. It cost like $150. Super high quality and they're a bar and plate design.

That would probably support your build perfectly.

Supports 350 hp and leak tested to 30 psi.

I got the s-max "tuner" intercooler and few other ppl on this forum and other forums have the "tuner" IC as well, from testing it and design it - it's the best bang for your buck.. there FMIC is awesome for street or strip.. it's tunable..

it has a high flow rate design for no boost or lag.. turbo spools 10% faster = 10% to 14% increase in HP and TQ..

i've helped them out with designing the FMIC for the Cobalt, HHR and Ion..

Here is a link to the testing results we've done..

The difference in lag between a stock setup and someone running 3.5 inch charge pipes and a huge intercooler is basically nill. Do you realize how much air a turbo can move? It may take 1/10 of a second longer to fill it if that.

I may get bashed for this, but Crazy Steve's Intercooler is also a great price and is a direct bolt on for cobalts.

i like the crazy steve. kinda spendy but looks good. i have also thought about an oem one too. but those are $244 new and people want almost that much for used. im taking measurements today so i know what size i want. i want to bolt it to the bottom of the crash bar and it fill up most of the lower grill if not all. then i got the hard part done besides finding the stupid manifold for the lnf

Are you just doing a full LNF conversion or what?

That's what I would do. I mean there are a ton of SS Cobalts with intercoolers and stock piping sitting around. manifold will be tough.

exhaust manifold bolts right up. people say i cant use the stock piping though. most people want $200 for their stock intercooler. which is nuts imo. i wish i could find one local and take the parts i need.
