Radiator shot

My plastic radiator tank broke today after a huge pothole. What do you recommend for an aftermarket radiator maybe one just metal no plastic if possible

I was in such a bind, caught off gaurd and in a rush that I called up Advance Auto (the only place open at the time) and asked them if they had a replacement in stock. It was about 8PM and they said they would have one for me the next morning (Saturday) at 7:30am. I honestly don't have a damn clue what brand it is but it was perfect. It still had the plastic but i noticed it also had some metal bungs in the end tanks of it. Everything matched up and it bolted in perfectly with the AC Condenser.

Been driving with it since Saturday Morning with no issues.

Here's my thread with two ways explained on how to replace it.

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-0l...cement-273794/

The first way has a How-To with pictures. It's actually not hard at all and can be done in just a couple hours.

The second way I didn't try because I couldn't see how to do it and the front of the car wasn't high enough anyway. Apparently you can unbolt the front subframe that supports it and drop it out the bottom.

You won't find anything other than a plastic/aluminum stock replacement, and there isn't a reason to change. Just don't hit stuff

^Pretty much this.

I looked around last night and I couldn't find an all aluminum one without any plastic at all.

As far as I can tell, you would have to get a custom one or adapt an aftermarket race one to the car.

If you asked powell, he might be able to direct you to a race spec all aluminum one. Those usually are thicker if needed and delete the a/c condenser. I'd stick with the stock one.
