red hot turbo!!!
i already got one infraction, because this asshat said "HEEYUCK **** CANADA" so i called him out...reported the post to reign and reign gave me an infraction...
well im sure you know how i stand on that now..
and wow...what the **** is that ****?
just ignore him. this guy is the ambassador to the douche kingdom
the best part is his pm's. he sent me one crying about how he hates me and my mean posts. that was pretty funny. Plus he follows me around and talks **** about every post i make then whines some more when i come back at him. I expect to get an infraction or two, maybe a ban because of this guy and his 10 second tune only f-bodies.

or maybe he feels "hey, i can be popular if i make fun of a country were the majordiy of the people on this site are not from!"
im still waiting for that 10 second f-body he has, ill glady race him with the 13 second corvette in my garage
It should NOT glow red unless you were beating on it HARD, somethings not right. My old turbo Trans Am only glowed red when I ran the **** out of it with 100 octain race fuel and no timing pulled out on the highway at speeds around 150mph for miles and miles with just a dump pipe and no exhaust at all.
As for how they spool that jet turbo do you see the leaf blower in the begining? Thats all in needs to start it and then the combustion process of the flames out the back draw the incoming air in and it spools itself.

race gas wont have much effect on egt's alone, its quicker flame front should help cool things a bit if anything.
you wouldn't pull timeing with high octane, you add...more advance=more power.
the more timeing you add the cooler the egt's become (if AFR is kept consistent)
that lack of exhasut, and the lesser back pressure that goes with it, would help keep the egt's down once again...
come back to the boosted world! you've gone NA and they are getting to your head!
OP-
go have it checked, in stock trim you should not be seeing the 1600+deg egt's required to glow the turbine housing.
Wow ur a POS, thanks for judging people by the car they drive. The members that get respect around here are the people that at the very least try and help other people, What have you done for another member lately?

bowtie til i die has been banned once before, hasnt learned at all, wonder why the tc crowd is getting some bad recognition, tool bags like ignoranttilidie.
OP, there is no way in hell your turbo should get so hot to the poing its glowing red, you should def notice other things as well, maybe a lack in performance or something...

I know the OP said he wasn't driving hard but I believe it's possible to quickly raise EGT's high enough to glow the turbo by revving or bouncing the rev limit constantly while parked. I'm not saying this is what happened but perhaps a possibility.
i wouldn't worry about it to much turbo's have the tendency to heat up like that just either get yourself a turbo timer, or let your car idle to 2-3 min before shutting it off after long usage or hard driving
