I heard Hanh's set up sounds nice, but also heard there's issues getting it to fit in there.

Uh what? There is no fitment problem. The problem is on lowered cars, the rear beam will hit it on big bumps.

I will get back to you with the stock's diameter but as the for the 3" in/out YES if you have a cat back with 3"in/out. stock is only 2.25 in/out on S/C.

If you want it quieter go with a
1) longer resonator 2) bigger diameter.

Oh, ok, good to know.
I'm not lowering.
I think the car's low enough.
I'm already worried about breaking the intercooler and lower charge and other plastic crap.

stock resonator is smaller than a 6" i want a bigger
res due to goin catless. i might also put a race muffler
where the cat would be goin for xtra quiet.

stock reso is 4".....so safe bet would be 5....6" might be too wide and will stick out a lot more on the bottom. regardless you want quiet you have to go for the long ones and offset mufflers.

I'm here at the exhaust place now. Went with an 18" long 4" core Magnaflow bc they had a slightly used one here and he cut me a good deal on it. I'll try and post a before and after.

Looks like you have the stock DP though. That would keep it sounding pretty normal.

Exhaust sounds perfect now. I think it may even be quieter now than it was before. Normal driving you can just barely hear the exhaust. WOT it screams like the resonator isn't there. Just the way I wanted it.

I should have some video up later on of before and after.

Okay, got some crappy cell phone vids of before and after...

Both of these videos are of the car being started cold and warming up. I don't have anyone to film me driving around so I figured this was the best way to hear how loud it was b/c the cat warmup revs a bit higher and it makes the car louder for a minute or so.

Before
Cobalt SS Turbo Catless Downpipe - YouTube

After
Magnaflow resonator on Cobalt SS - YouTube

The resonator core is 18" x 4" and is a Magnaflow. Its on the stock exhaust piping so the inlet/outlet is 2.5". The results are PERFECT for me. Sounds nice and low at cruise and screams at WOT. Definitely louder than stock but far quieter than basically straight out the turbo. It has also muffled quite a bit of the afterfire (some call backfire) that I was hearing on decel.

Hard to really judge. One was in a garage so acoustics were louder and echoed.
The other was out side.
Should do another garage video, same distance, so we can compare apples to apples.

The garage door was open and the exhaust at the edge of the door. The acoustics have no effect. There was no echo. That was just straight retarded loudness. Trust me.
