Running rough and breaking up!!!!

Hey guys just want to get some input, and see if this is a common concern. so im full bolted and i am tuned, did 311 whp and 352wtq on my buddys mustang dyno. I went to my local track on sunday and the car is breaking up on the 1-2 no lift and went 13.87 first pass, then on second pass it broke up horribly and i went 13.96 both passes were at 107mph. so i tighten my plug gap to .022" and it got better but not completly gone. so on the 3rd run i didnt no lift 1-2 and went 13.52 at 109, then last run of day gave it hell no lifted 1-2 it broke up a tid bit but went 13.27 at 109. any ideas of how to get rid of that or has anyone had that prob. thanks guys.

Was it a misfire? Was the engine light blinking at you? My car is tuned for high 80/low 90 degree weather. About a week ago a cold front pushed the temps down to the low 60s. Car did not like to nls

Yeah, mine would sometimes do this on an NLS a while back. Try resetting the ECU by disconnecting, waiting a bit, and reconnecting it. Your fuel trims may be out of wack.

I think you're also going in the right direction with checking spark plugs.

There's really no point in NLS'ing 1st to 2nd because as soon as you hit WOT in 1st you have no traction and keeping full boost into 2nd gear is just going to pro-long the problem. You want traction in the 1/4 mile. In fact you shouldn't even go WOT in 1st gear. Take some time and practice launching through 1st gear while maintaining as much traction as possible. Then normal shift 2nd, hammer it and NLS to 3rd. Shouldn't need 4th gear in the 1/4.

I get this issue if I come anywhere near the rev limiter in 1st for some reason. I think Cmiller said he was getting something similar as well.

thanks for all the input guys. i threw a set of the autolite plugs in it gappd at .022" im goin to see how this works and im goin to try running race gas. i dont see why i shouldnt no lift 1-2 i have my torque mang. setup so it does get traction and i wen form 13.5 to 13.2 nls 1-2 lol if i can get the crackle outta it i think it will go even faster. hopefully ill be goin to my buddy's shop in a bit and go back on the dyno then tom or sunday goin ot try to get to the track . if i can get it running good im goin ot run at mir next weekend.
