ya surprisingly! stock tranny is being tough! haha although i am scared to really push anymore out of it lol. but as far as putting it to the ground its actually doing really well! little tire spin but then hooks hard.

Wow, that's even more impressive! lol

Mine gave up last week, so I'm working on getting a replacement. ZZP's out of the their beefed up ones, so I'm going to need to go another route for now.

I'm thinking that the transmissions may be going out more for the non big turbo guys because of the torque spike with the stock turbo. Cubaniche for instance has a turbo swap and is probably putting out more power than me, but hasn't had any issues. We're thinking it may be because his power curve is shifted, and it pulls more like a freight train than a "bam!" torque hit when quickly getting on it with a K04.

that would actually make a lot of sense i only of have a torque spike of about 23 psi then it builds to 25.5 so its easier on the tranny. i absolutely love the stock gear ratios and the stock final drive of our transmissions if zzp could make a beefed up one of the stock final drive and gears i would be sold in a heart beat! lol or shoot maybe even slightly longer gears would be nice but i understand that would actually put more strain on the tranny

i have the clutchmasters stage 4+

Nasty! Your Trans is on borrowed time tho.

I actually busted mine on the BNR. Isn't that what Cubaniche has?

Yep. How many total miles and miles on the BNR did you have on the transmission when it went?

I dont think it has much to do with milage, more of how you drive it. I broke one with the 4.05 gear when I had my LSJ in my car with bolt ons. It broke when I slammed third gear and dumped the clutch at 7000rpms with 4 people in the car.

And congrats on the dyno numbers ryan! Il be out there later today so we can do a check up on a few things. Plus sean is bugging me about the evo again lol

i did a third gear pull because i feel that 4th gear at about 60 is too much torque and load on the stock tranny. i dont get on the car much also which probably helps alot with the life of it. ive changed tranny fluid about 1k miles ago, and we dont have a huge torque and boost spike so its not soo much shock on the tranny. im doing everything i can to keep it going. lol

And sweet Taylor ill see you later then after the evos has been done. lol

Trans had almost exactly 50k on it. I drove on the BNR for 2 whole days before 3rd

Edit: I should add, was stillin process of tuning on E47, 27psi. Wasn't even dialed in yet!

Was actually in a race with a 2011/2012 Cobra when it happened. I won so I guess it was worth it.

Lol, I hear ya on that man. I hadn't even been able to send one log due to weather before my trans went. Input shaft bearing went. I'm guessing the previous owner had something to do with it as I found metal shavings in the trans previously and it was only a matter of time.

ya im babying it and trying everything i can to keep her running strong for a long time! im gonna start doing tranny fluid changes probably every 5-8k miles and also we have a a lower boost spike in the tune to help with less shock going to the transmission

Thanks guys for all the compliments!

well we all knew it was coming but after some retuning and making some more power at 30psi... the stock tranny 3rd gear finally told me to F off! now looking into what can be done to keep same gears and ratios but make it all around stronger! just out of curiosity, anyone ever cryotreated or nitro frozen gears or parts? whats your experience and would you think it would benefit my situation? Thanks guys!

^ I was going to do the same thing if I had of kept my car, I actually went through a transmission with a bolt-on/23psi LNF... 2nd gear got me instead of 3rd, but because the MAJORITY of my pulls was from 40 in 2nd...

I know that badbaltguy was talking about getting cryo done on his tranny gears, but I don't know if he got it done before selling it to James (CCS3).

Idk if it still will hold up unless you cryo treat the entire casing. One of the biggest issues is the trans case is flexing.

Doesn't the cost of cryo-treating everything pretty much just make it worthwhile to get the zzp trans?

Oh and i should be heading down to see silverbullet soon for my E85 tune, we need to hook up after for some fun.
