Safe to Install Downpipe?

There are three upgrades in the immediate future I plan to do to my SS: DP, Intake, Trifecta Tune. I was curious as to the order I should install these things, or if it matters at all?

I received my downpipe today, however I know due to the learn down any extra performance I get out of it will be lost. Should I wait to install it until I do the tune? Will the "lost" power be recovered with the tune?

Also I am fairly certain I want to go with the CIA SRI, however heat was a concern of mine. I saw from one of the test users that on average he saw a five degree increase in intake temperature, which is nothing of consequence. Any thoughts on this?

If you're wanting the most for you buck/setup then the tune should come last, so you can "lock in" your bolt-ons so to speak. Otherwise you'd possibly have to get re-tuned as you add more to get the most out of them.

I've done downpipe, charge piping, and intercooler so far. There's too much hubbub about the intakes still, and it's looking more and more like we should just stay with what we've got stock with maybe a mod to the stock one. Now that I've done the parts, I'm looking into maybe a tune now.

Maybe the intake issue will pan out, but I'd say downpipe would be good, as would charge piping maybe. Stay tuned on the CIA stuff. I may have to eat my words if those intakes end up panning out.

Thanks for the very fast replies, alright I will install it as soon as I get the chance. I too am taking a wait and see approach on the intakes, but I'm hoping to grab one soon.

Yea man install it it's all good. It shouldn't take more than an hour with the right tools, half inch drive with an extension and a flex socket it's cake. Oh and do a muffler delete it will sound real good plus it's cheap.

the muffler delete sounds like ass, sorry... get a Magnaflow, etc. if you want a deeper exhaust note... the muffler delete makes it sound like a ******* honda...

I plan on going catted d.p. w/ a 6X14" Magnflow center/center muffler, like this one:

Lol I would like to say you are very wrong on that comment when I had my dp and muffler delete it sounded nice. Nothing like a Honda at all. I've heard a ss/sc with muffler delete that sounds like a Honda but not a ss/tc. It sounds like it does with just the dp but a little deeper and it burbles more... And not to mention if he did this mod it might cost what 30 bucks? Lol. And well hell, if he didn't like it.. No real loss there.

same here. I was ashamed to get on it.

Put stock muffler back on and all is well though. Ended up being a $100 mistake.

I have a CIA catless and just did the muffler delete last week. I like it. Sounds way better than any small displacement import with a fart can. I use to have a 2.5inch megan catback on a built 240sx and it was louder than this.

It's deep and bassy. The burble between shifts is awesome.

I'll probably go to a full catback at some point though.
