Shifter...

Im thinking about getting in on the TWM STS GB, and I want to hear some reviews. Our stock shifter seems pretty decent to me, but an upgrade would be nice.

Those of you who have done it already, how do you like it? Noticably smoother, shorter, more precise? Do you think its worth it? I havent spent any money on the Balt in a while, just mainly on the Vette, so I figured Id get something for it. I think with the GB its like $302 shipped....

Thoughts?

It's the first thing I did to my car and I don't regret it at all. Throw is shorter, but the shifter itself feels so much more solid and precise that only for this it's worth the money. Worth every penny to me!

Did you get the metal bushings with it?

Yeah what is your set up? Im thinking about the STS, Weighted Flat black M1 Abrams knob, and the aluminum base bushings.

I bought the shifter, the $80 or so stainless steel ball, and the bushings. Absolutely amazing

no regrets here. It's a little smoother than the stock one (can't really remember (think I did it before I had 1000k miles on the car) I know I do like the feel/placement better than stock. Feels really good downshifting ...don't know if my review helps you but, it's my two bits

Got the weighted ball and bushings

X3 ^^^ I have heard that all of the S/C guys LOVE their TWM. And my friend, Marca34 has one on his, and he said he loves it, and I even liked the feeling of it (just sitting in his car). I was actually contemplating buying this as my next mod also......

ordered mine withe the bushings, and shift extender. Best hurry up and decide man I saved over $50 with the group buy discount, now thats a real discount. I did go all out with my order, I'm going to try the shift extender (think it will look sweet in a HHR SS), if I don't like it atleast I got it at a discount.

I haven't been on the .net in a while as I have been working a lot, but I just saw the thread last night, and I put my name down. I know A LOT of S/C guys LOVE their TWM, so that's why I'm buying one, especially at this price.

you made a smart buy, I love my TWM STS to death; I hate it in the summer time when the shift knob gets really hot, so beware. TWM FTW!

don't complain in the summer when you burn your hand off from the shift knob for picking up heat

I keep a microfiber cloth in the glove box that Ill keep it covered with....that may help a little lol. The coated flat black probably wont be as bad to the touch as the bare stainless either....but I guess Ill find out
