side exit exhaust

so i saw this in a different thread:
http://www.jreperformanceparts.com/c...products_id=21

definitely looks like a cool exhaust to have running on your car, but it does throw a couple questions out there i was hoping someone could answer.

1. from what i read, side exits sound like CRAP on the ss/sc, but they might sound decent on our turbocharged balts. any ideas on this?

2. a side exit will throw some codes? i guess i can email jannetty about this but just trying to see what you guys think here.

3. has anyone done businesss with jannetty before?

4. has anyone either bought this side exit or done there own side exit on their ss/tc?

i would love to have a side exit exhaust, ive always thought they look badass on any car, but just want to see what the general consensus is on running one on a ss/tc. otherwise i was going to run the 3" mandrel bent setup with a borla muffler, but if anyone thinks the jannetty side exhaust would sound ok/nice and not throw any codes i am definitely going with that.

1. SS/SC had no turbine in the exhaust path (duh), apples to oranges. This application will sound like any other application using straight pipe (cat vs. no cat will change the rasp and overall volume a bit).

2. As long as you arent getting rid of any O2 sensors or cats it won't. If you are, then it will.

3. ???

4. Not I, but I actually like the idea quite a bit. Would be major bad-ass.

yeah im definitely doing this now. i contacted ted jannetty, and it looks like ill be driving down to CT this saturday to pick it up. im sure ill have it on sometime sunday morning. ill take pics once its on.

from what ive read up on, seems like its going to sound pretty nice. only thing im worried about is the clearance on the side of the car, but it doesnt seem like anything to worry much about.

and as for the back bumper cut out. i think im just going to find me some scrap black plastic and fabricate something to fit in the cut out and secure it to the bumper. im expecting this to look pretty good.

I have done business with Jannetty Racing MANY times. They are 5 minutes from where I work. Their exhaust systems are top notch. I have their rear exit system, and have seen in person their side exit. The mendrel bends are flawless and everything fits on the cars without any issues.

Teds a great guy to work with.

as far as clearance goes, you'll be fine. it fits nicely.
