Solstice/Sky/Cobalt Turbo Compare

This might be a dumb question, but are there any differences in the turbo between the Solstice/Sky vs. the Cobalt? I know it's supposed to be the same turbo for the most part, but did they change the housings for fitment or different charge tubing angle?

Also, how about the exhaust manifold?

Thanks.

Perhaps you didn't read the question?

I have been told it's the same basic block and turbo. The engine cut off was slightly lower than the 09 cobalt. Other than that, there are no major differences - or so I was told at least. This was from the dealer though, and dealer info is always suspect. I test drove one the night I bought my Cobalt.

I don't know for sure about the specifics of the engine, but I know that they sit in the engine bay differently...

They sit in the engine bay differently because one is RWD and one is FWD. Didnt you just criticize the person who said basically the same thing?

No...I criticized him because he didn't read and see that he was asking about engine components...like I said, I don't know about the specifics of the engine, but clearly they aren't EXACTLY the same...just showing that it is likely there are some differences...

Just a lil bit of sarcasm. And besides I have FWD.
You guys need to unwind a little.

That's an ugly cover, but there's actually a ton of sound insulation under that cover. Since it's a convertible they wanted to minimize the ticking noise of the injectors and fuel pump. Otherwise it sounds like you are driving a typewriter down the street with the top down.

I thought that the cobalts lnf lost the power steering pump from the block and uses electric steering. I believe the solstice/sky's have an extra pulley for the steering on the engine. But the turbo's should be the same.

Entire long block is identical, turbo and manifold included.
Accesory drives are different though. GXP's have this wee little set of power steering pump pullies off the frotn of everything else. Cute little buggers, I may use them on the vette.
