Some new stuff

Well I went to ZZP and picked up a few things. 2.0 LDK - Have all the parts ready to be sent to John Powell to be assembled. 4340 Rods, 86mm Wiseco Pistons, ZZP Neutral Balance Shafts, ATI Damper, Brand New Head with xxx cams (haven't arrived yet which I can't comment on), New Timing Chain set, New Gaskets, etc. I chose the smaller 2.0 because I will have a higher redline anyway. ZZP stated the motor will hold 700whp all day long thanks to the updated girdling in the gen 3s as you can see in the pictures.

And a new turbo!

A Billet S259et .55AR, which comes with the larger exhaust wheel, 64/74. Looking at dynos, full boost should be ~4700. I have a larger wastegate spring ready to install, it will be ~20psi spring pressure.

I am hoping with the cams, 8k redline, and the bigger turbo i'll be putting down 460 - 470whp on pump gas @ 26psi and 600 on race gas @ 35 - 38 psi. Yes, SSKev will be tuning as usual.

For those wondering, my stock motor is still alive and well. I know it's been awesome and has taken me this far, but 10s aren't happening on it. It's time to part ways. Same as the turbo. The s256et was a beast, but it's only good for a little over 500whp.

Photobucket sucks, so all I can provide is the links:

Just make sure the piston to wall clearance is right. Mine was close, only needed half a thou hone. Going to be a nice build. Looking forward to seeing it.

Chris what should I hone it to. I can't remember whatSteve at zzp told me but I thought he said since the motor hasn't been used don't even hone it. Just drop the pistons in. Thoughts?

Cory - mark my words. I am done.

Did you run the 256et on a stock engine?

I have an lsj brake swap ready to go.

I ran the s256et on a bone stock lnf motor with valvesprings (82lb zzp) for 2 years. In those two years It saw the track numerous times. I would say I beat on it pretty good. It saw 500whp @ 29psi on race gas. It also saw 32 psi on a track day. I would not recommend that much boost on the s256et. It started to get pretty hot. The s256et killed my stock 3.82 f35 last year.

I can't run this thing on ethanol due to it not being readily available. Race gas is very expensive. 500whp is a blast on the street. The combination of the bigger turbo cams and 8k redline will getme closer on pump gas. 600whp on the strip on kill mode with race gas. 435ish is what you can get on pump gas safely with the s256et. It was time to move on.

The s256et was a great turbo. Many cocky car owners ran away with their tail between their legs. My stock motor seemed to love it.

haha, im sure it did kill a 3.82 no problem, even the zfr would do that. thats why i got zzp's 4.45 trans. but do what im doing man, **** expensive race gas. buy a spare PCM that you can run a E tune on and swap them for race days/play days. but im glad that your actually doing slicks, too many ppl with these cars build these insane high hp cars but dont do **** for times at the strip because they dont invest in some stickies. its stupid not to.

I would hone it to 4 thou total clearance. The gen 3 might be a little different due to the new designs. But that's wherei set mine up at still since I will be pushing it pretty good.

Wow nice assortments of parts...
This would be a nice setup to move up from 256 to 259.. I would have like to follow your lead but I want to move on to a different sedan in couple 2 years or so.
Can't wait to hear your final # on your new setup. The fastest lnf in Canada? ...

Thanks man!

First step is to put the new turbo on the old motor and break it in. I did have a s259 Batmowheel before, but it didn't work from the factory. As soon as it gets warm enough to haul the car out of storage i'll be getting my mechanic to put it on. Shouldn't be too much longer. This turbo looks in much better shape from the factory. I will be taking pictures and documenting the installation. If it's a no go with this turbo, I'm done with Bullseye and will move on to Precision. I think the general rule is to pick the smallest turbo that will get you to your goal, which is 600whp, so I chose this.

Fastest in Ontario probably, fastest in Canada, we shall see.

As soon as I am done paying off the truck I move onto a new project. Probably LSX based, turboed. A few years down the road though...

Yea I went with the pt6262 mostly because of Area's input and his experience with them. Yea, I gotta talk over purchases and plans with my mechanic *cough* Japeatr *cough* lol After my motor went, I decided to go all out with the build instead of just getting a stock replacement. Hopefully you'll have better luck with this turbo though, you're lucky to have a stock motor that you beat down for 2 years still running good, usually you do a build because they go boom so I'm very jelly lol

Matt could you tell me a bit about this dyno and mods? Was it the .55 259? What size exhaust wheel etc. 32psi only up top. 35psi and a 7800/8000 limit would net even more power no?

Thanks as always

I can't be 100% sure now because I have had so many different turbos on my car. I think that was a .70ar. I still recommend the .55, though. As long as the exhaust wheel is large enough, you can make 600whp on a .55 housing with the LNF.

Similar to the mods we offer for LNF Cobalt. We have 3 ATS already and started testing a few parts.

Sorry for the off topic!
