Spark plug gap?
I've experimented with this quite a bit. Just wanted to see what was what...
Figured out that it's best to just leave them alone. I have the stockers and set to .032. Seems to be the best.
Higher than around .035 seems to provoke misfire and smaller than .032 starts to eat at the throttle response.

mitchell says .40 max, alldata says .35 max. could be wrong it is mitchell on demand. I have been gapping mine to .35 and no problems.
good info!

i actually went to .030 in the beginning because i thought that was the right gap. Found out it was .032-.035 so i pulled them out and changed them to .032 although they seemed exactly the same as .030 so i dunno. just outta curiousity does it benefit going to a smaller gap?
and i know that quite a few people are here are running them with no problems

for example: chrysler loves champion spark plugs. GM just happens to like NGK and of course acdelco. if I used champion's on my cobalt there'd be problems. I'm not sure of the technical aspect but this is what I've gathered doing tune ups for so many years.
ok but i have no knock or misfires or any loss of performance or anything bad from the autolites and i don't think anyone else that uses them on this forum has had any problems

From: 6000ft on a Mountain in Colorado!
I did a search and this was the best result I could find to answer my question.
I set my gap to .029 and it's running like a champion! With my Aeroforce Gauges, I no longer get random KR at .7-2.9 degrees and my false-positive misfire readings (no official misfire/No CEL) have dropped down significantly.
Vince recommended I go to .028 due to my altitude, but who knows. All I can say is my experience since yesterday (October 4, 2011) has been good so far. I'll keep an eye out, but I'd love to hear your expertise on why this may be bad or beneficial with the mods in my sig!

Factory spec is either .040 or .035, I forget, but it depends on your tune/mods and probably your elevation. I'm currently running 1 step colder at .032.. some ppl run .030 or even .029.. depends what works best for you and your application.
