SS/TC Rear Brake Problem
I know its a common problem. My rear brakes are grinding and the dealership wants to do nothing about it. I am going to try to swindle a rotor resurfacing job. I know theres a big thread on here about that common problem and what people have done.
I cant seem the find it. Its wednesday and i got a pile of work on my desk and kind of hald out of it. If someone could get me some information that would be amazing.
Thanks

P.s i still have that POS dejon intake you sold me two years ago
i just replaced my rear pads and rotors, grease the plunger things on the caliper, iv heard it solves the issue of the inside pad wearing away so fast and the sqeeking. we shall see.
I'm gonna take issue with that. I don't think you'll have to lube em for a very long time..if ever! There are other cars...Volvo..Saab...Mazda with the SAME calipers and UNLUBED pins (I posted a pick here of a Volvo caliper) and they don't have our problem. Once you get rid of the unique stock pads (and rotors), the cause of this problem vanishes. The original pads contaminated the pins with crap. I switched to ceramics 8K mi ago after cleaning and lubing the pins and brakes are smooth as silk. I don't plan on touching the pins again for a LONG time.

lol thats nothing! On my 2008 TC my rears started grinding @ around 3k-4k miles. They replaced the pads and turned the rotors at around 6k miles. At 14k they started grinding again. I just kept driving it until around 20k when I went through my shop and got some premium aftermarket pads and rotors (at cost) and threw them on. Im at 30k miles now and completely problem free.
Im pretty sure there full covered before 27000kms or something.
Ive had my rears completley replaced 2 times and a third at my expense.
I now have Gm Lifetime pads and rotors LOL!!! SUCKERS!!!

The lifetime warranty should only cover defects in the parts, not wear and tear.
If they gave you a lifetime warranty on wear, then thats some crazy stuff.
Im guessing if you cut them they will be below minimum specs. Mine where so grooved I took off .012 and still had a deep groove. I tried since I was being cheap and was just curious. Id have the new rotors around before you start cutting .
If they groove after 10000k then I'm going to rub there noses in it.
And inevitably they will.
