SS/TC vs LS1
OP, How "stock" is the LS1? I've ran a few "stock" LS1s with gears, stall, exhaust, cams and DRs, but they say its close to stock.
If he truely is stock, you should pull on him from a roll. From a dig, IDK

It would actually be a "cam", and that is way off from being stock.

Its been my experienced that SS's and WS6s are not any faster than their lesser siblings because the eagle F1s never hooked as well as the GS-Cs on the street. they are all low 13 second cars when ideal wheelspin occurs.
No matter if they are auto or manual, i saw a blond ditz, first run pilot her 99 auto T/A to a 13.3 at 106. Her reaction time? 2 seconds... Muscle mustangs drove a bone sock z28 12.86, cant remember the trap speed.
Im thinkin its gonna take a bigger snail to take down a healthy or mildly modded LS1 Fbody
If there is a cam, there is probably heads, and if thats the case, your out of your league

there are more than a few cam/bolt on only ls1 f bodies with over 400 whp running around
a cam really wakes up an ls1
mm&ff ran a 12.89 at almost 109 with a bone stock 99 m6 z28 at e town I believe, but it was like 30 degrees that day and the DA was prob -2000
revin' evan was the driver

Whoops, my bad. I double checked and its rated at 500 hp from the factory. Remember its a V10! True a small one but a V10 none the less.
Its Foff667's fault. He said M6.

I have a stock 2002 TA WS6 (except for a Superchips tune that can be removed in 5 mins.)
Sadly it's an auto but I bought it in 2005 from a gent who had to sell it with 16,000 miles on it. While it gets stored in the winters now, he did drive it in crappy weather on occasion so it isn't perfect, but with 19,000 on it now, it's close. I may start showing it soon. The back of the polished aluminum wheels are pitted & scarred up from salt.
My SS/TC is still stock. Too bad I can't drive them both at the same time and race myself.
The WS6 *feels* faster off the line but that's all the torque talking. Superchips states something like 340 hp, 325 ft/lbs torque tuned premium only if memory serves. The tranny is tight enough with the tune to chirp second & once in a while third with the stock Eagles on it.
The SS/TC still has a better hp/weight ratio I believe. Driving them both, I really can't say certainly which one would win.
Stock for stock LS1 even Auto is a good race still leaning towards LS1 - One mod on the LS1 and you are toast. Some day I will make vids of my F bod pushing close to 550 vs the balt when it is done and I order mods that have known reliability ( bigger turbo etc ) as of right now a custom tune with 1500 bucks worth of mods is very small hp gains isn't much to rant about beside the fact it is a FWD powerplant. I am waiting for big HP numbers and track times from people who like doing the experimental dirty work them selves.. LNF is a very new platform for me and so far the LS1 or even LS2 still gives one of the best HP to Price ratio with mods.........
My friend has a ws6 trans am, and ill be honest both cars PERFECTLY driven will result in any Ls1 winning. But from my experience I feel that this Cobalt is easier to drive than the ws6, so i think that average driver verses average driver, cobalt ss/tc might have them beat, well at least from a roll.
Really? I've never heard anyone call a 6 speed an M6. I've seen 6spd used but M6 screams BMW. Sorry my bad, your fault.
M6 = 6 speed.
I guess that means the Cobalt has an M5
silly rabit
Wow you must have an insecurity issue cause the few posts I've seen from you bash German cars. Poor guy.

I don't have experience with a tuned Cobalt yet(hopefully will soon), but more than enough experience with LS1s(just not stock ones, lol)... Stock for stock, there is no comparison, we don't have anything for a well driven 6-speed, I can confirm that through losing
superchips is a canned tune which is practically useless, much like a Diablo Sport... its great for resetting your speedometer if you do a gear swap, but that is about it(or I know that is what most use the diable sport for, don't know many who use the Superchips, though all of those "plug and play" tunes.....are canned).... HPtuners or LS1edit are the tuning software where the real gains are to be found, so with a superchips, you basically have a stock car
