SS/TC vs LS1
i raced one from a dig, 40 roll, and 30 roll last night. i beat him on the 40 but about 1 car. lost on the 30 roll by about 1 car. and lost on the dig by about 4 due to my clutch slipping all the way through first. i'm gonna say you'll beat him no matter what
No!! The guy you raced just couldnt drive. Stock auto LS1's are 13.3-13.4 second cars on a shitty night, and 13-13.1 second cars with a good driver in a manual. The roll race, I can see an SS/TC winning, just not from a dig without a tune.
So your stock? If so something was wrong with that ls1.
uhm, yeah, i ran a 14.2 stock. and his 4 length lead was about a 13.2-13.3 run
well then again. an ebay muffler, according to css, adds enough power to put me out of the stock performance window.
have you ever driven and LS1 TA auto on a 40 roll....? not a gto, a trans am. its a bit different

I can see an SS/SC possibly getting an LS1 automatic F-body from a roll, maybe. With the right driver in the SS/SC and just a mediocre driver in the LS1. Not gonna say it's gonna happen all the time, but with everything right it could.

that video is the dig. my friends girl got the roll on video, but only like the last 4 seconds. and its shitty quality anyway
my point is how the **** can an automatic transmission car have a bad driver?

Then why are you talking about gto's and ta's.... Maybe your friend got a cramp in his leg and had to let off
I didnt even look at the video. Its the pre ls6 intake manifold ls1 though. Should be 10-15 hp lower.
Wow that video sucked.

i don't know. why are you saying an auto trans car had a bad driver and thats why he lost?
yeah sorry. not everyone has a video camera. i asked her if she did and she said yeah. but turns out she thought the video feature on her digital camera was just as good. oh well, i can see it good on my monitor
but what would it have gained with HPtuners? a lot more... they are canned, no two cars are created alike, end of discussion, waste of money, etc...
And those of you who think all LS1 fbodies should run bottom 13's and or high 12's stock, you're sorely mistaken. Some can only trap a 103~104mph stock. Others will trap up to 109mph. It all depends on the conditions of the weather, the car, the track, and the driver. My '99 would only trap 105mph in stock form. MPH is important for 2 reasons....it doesn't vary as much as ET and it's the tell-tale sign of who will win in a roll race most of the time. That's why I list my MPH in my sig instead of the ET. It'd be unlikely that I'll race someone with my traction issues from a dig. Now, the '00 ram air T/A that cruises around town and traps 104mph, I'll take that race from a 30-roll any day.
Bosch what? You kinda lost me there. But just so you know I think German cars in general are difficult to work on! Some of the crap they do makes you sit back, scratch your head and think to yourself What in THEE **** were those crazy Germans thinking!
Bosch the automotive supplier, I have to work with them as they are one of our suppliers. Due to their management and engineering style (as a company and as a different culture) they are very frustrating to deal with when you work for a US company. A lot of companies dislike doing business with them because of it, but sometimes you just don't have a choice when they have make things other companies don't.
