Thinking about ZFR...some questions
I'm thinking about making the leap once the car is paid off, but had a few questions so I can plan accordingly. The car now currently has a KN intake, ZZP catless pipe and the GMS1 kit + tune. Haven't gone any further in the effort to stay in the dealer's good graces while still within my warranty period.
I'm not looking for huge power goals, but I do want a fairly significant bump over what I have now. However I'd rather not do e-85 or play with the engine internals (cams, pistons, etc). What I am hoping to do is run 22-24 lb (depending on what I can get away with on 91 octane), with as many stock parts as possible. Reason behind this is that plenty of people have run this level of boost on the stock turbo with stock IC / pipes without issue. My reasoning is that a larger, more efficient turbo should be just as safe. Of course at higher rpm where the stocker runs out of breath this one will still be going, so that could be a potential issue with cooling or flow.
I'm currently at ~270/310 at the wheels on a local dyno, and my goal would be somewhere around 350/350. It seems that should be a fairly safe number to run with stock pistons, transmission, clutch, etc. I'm not against upgrading / replacing something, just prefer not to at this time. So, does this scenario sound at all realistic? Will I run out of fuel? Is 350 hp too much to ask for on 91 with no meth or E85 blend?
tl;dr
Can one make 350/350 with only a ZFR turbo, intake, catless pipe and 91 octane?

Quick question - do you have 91 or 93 there? My car was measured at 227/260 stock, so all things considered it does seem like my goal is realistic. Thanks for the info!

It looks like you and I are of a very similar mindset. I also want more fun but without sacrificing long term reliability (much). At the same time it's nice to know that if I want to drop some more money on pistons and valvetrain, up the boost and get another healthy dose of power.

93 is correct You can achieve similar results on 91 depending on your elevation
Keep in mind it was on a dyno, while driving you can barely hear it, with the K&N its like a freakin jet engine haha

Oh, without a doubt. This will probably be the path I take once I get my car paid off. Assuming I don't get rid of it for something else by then.
70k miles and I'm not sick of it yet though.
