So do you think the AEM CAI is far superior to the Dejon SRI? I have the Dejon SRI, and I haven't had any problems with it, but was thinking of trying the AEM or CIA CAI.

clear image only bc of r&d and their customer service.

I bought my down pipe, charge piping and intake from them .... waiting for arrival!

I'm going nuts!!

my next question is, what tune do I go with............

This is my dd, so I want to keep my warranty, but I want high HP. It's a rob peter to pay paul situation.

Keep warranty = 290whp 320tq w/ bolt ons
Lose warranty = 330whp / 345 tq with aftermarket tune

GRRRRRR

That could possibly be the worst decision. The ability to flash back to stock tune is a moot point knowing that GM can read all of the flashes that have been applied to the ECM. You might as well pay 250 or whatever for the Trifecta tune if you want a canned tune.

You're only two options for consideration should be HP tuned (no warranty) or GM stage 1 kit (keep warranty).

BIGGEST waste of $$.

$1000 for a canned tune that sucks!! No way!

Save your $600 if you're going to spend that much on a tune and keep your warranty. Otherwise as others have said, HP or Trifecta.

Or just buy another ECM and have it flashed by Trifecta, and you have the best of both worlds.

^^x2 and I've had the dejon sri for about 3500 miles and not a problem yet. For the price and color match to your car I think it's well worth it but to each its own.

I like my dejon sri....Just dont like the conection to the turbo. Mine came off on me once, but that was because i didnt tighten the clamp all the way. I just went out and ordered a silicon reducer 2.25-2.75 because i didnt like the rubber one they sent. Once thats on there it the intake should be as solid as a rock. I didnt want the full cai because here in Nova Scotia, we get alot of rain, and with the intake setting right under the headlight , the filter would be soaked in no time. Especially with the gap i have around my headlights....lol

I also have their charge piping, and i got the upgraded couplers and t- bolt clamps and i havent had any trouble with them.....knock on wood!

I'm not brand loyal at all. I always try to get the best bang for the buck. That being said I've had zero problems with my dejon after 3k of use. Money well spent so far.

Like i said...if your retarded at installing **** dont buy the dejon one

if you understand how a t-clamp works..(i found out the hard way) its well worth it.

and trifecta tuning FTW

My Dejon is off. My car runs so much better now with the stock airbox!!! I might be picking up AEM intake soon pending some testing results by HBSS/TC.

You guys are cracking me up. Well, check the internet for Nesse guys because we just built and installed our SRI today. It is being tested this weekend. As long as we don't find any codes or have any issues, I will begin bending tubing Monday.

By the way, I'll try to get some pictures up this weekend. Of course our SRI is not only the best looking available, but will have no welds and use factory PERFECT MAF and breather valve fittings.

Also keep in mind that the GM Stage Kit ratings are at the crank, not the wheels.

So:
GM Rumor Kit = 290hp/~320(?) tq w/intake
Tune = 330whp / 345 wtq

Great! I can't wait! Keep an eye out for any MAF/LTFT issues though. We're having issues with other brands of CAI/SRI throwing off the MAF and we'd like nothing more than to get the hookup on a great product.

(MAF/LTFT issues discussed in part in this thread: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-0l-lnf-performance-tech-153/anyone-have-hp-tuners-scan-log-aem-intake-177107/)

I was wondering if Dan from CIA was still reading this, if CIA could comment on the issues with intakes brought up in that thread.

Yup,
still reading.

So far our SRI, on a Tech 2, showed short term trims between -3 & +6.
Long term was -14.

We are hoping to have Vince do some date logging/eval this week.

That is normal for the short term fuel trims as the LTFTs are just an overall average of the STFTs. As the car is driven over the first 100-200 miles or 6 start stop cycles the ECM adjusts the LTFTs. You know the LTFTs are fully adjusted in when the STFTs are close to 0.

Yeah, how'd they get -14 LTFT if the STFT was between -3 and +6? The STFT had to have been averaging to -14 in order for the LTFT to become -14, correct?
