Timing help needed ASAP!!

I was getting an exhaust cam timing error code. I replaced every sensor I could think of associated with this code and it kept coming back. So I pulled the valve cover and checked the timing chain. The colored link was 15 teeth off of where it was supposed to be on the cam gear. I need help with how to either adjust or retime the car. A pdf file or step by step instructions would be awesome. I have my car in the shop with me right now. Thank u in advance.

I cant get the link to work so go to redline forums, into performance modifications, click the sticky thread "GM Build Books *PDF's*" and scroll down to GMRedlines 2nd post and click chapter 6 and download it and go down to page 114.

Theres a good possibility you already bent a lot of your valves if not all of them if it was out of time enough.

These cars don't line up every other revolution like some cars. It takes like 30 revolutions for the marks to line up again. If you think it's off best thing to do is pull the front case, cams, crank pulley and reset the chain. It's not a very hard job. Just make sure you have a good impact gun to get the bolts out of the cams.

Ok so after a weekend of working on the car we got it to run. There are so many different little marks on the intake cam gear and pretty much no marks on the exhaust gear for setting things up. Got the little tech book from like alldata.com or whatever. Buttoned it all back up...it started and idled like crap. Then I got a code saying it was now over advanced on the intake side. Retimed it and now it says its over advanced on the exhaust side. The original problem was over advaced on the exhaust side. It runs way better but I can't get this thing dialed in perfectly. Is there something I'm missing? Some little trick?

Did you replace the actuator solenoid valves? It's pretty common for them to go out. It's not very common at all for the cam timing to "jump" or be off by even a tooth. If it was actually off by 15 teeth, you'd know, it would barely run if at all.

Hopefully these will help you out...
