Tip in KR and question about LTFTs
Hey guys,
I spoke with Vince awhile ago and he said my KR is a slight "Tip in Knock" nothing to worry about, he said a lot of my KR is false. I then spoke with CCSS3 and he said it could possibly be (I forgot already, but I think he said) lash adjusters.
It happens when I'm part throttle but more aggressive. I'd say over 50% depressed, but no where near WOT.
I'd end up getting up to 4.4 KR and rarely does it go above that, but it's happened. Most common reading on my Aeroforce gauge is 3.6 KR then it goes down to 2.4 then 1.2 then .7 then to 0 if I keep it at part throttle. It'll go straight to 0 if I floor it the moment I get a KR reading. It happens every driving session, warm, cold doesn't matter. It'll happen, but it's intermittent and never happens during WOT. When the AC is on (or defrosters) the KR reading is consistent and rarely goes away. Where as without AC it's more rare. I have my gauge to alert me when my KR goes over 3.0 so I notice it often.
Basically, ever since talking with CCSS3 it's scared me, not that I don't trust his advice, I just would like more opinions on this matter.
Next question;
My LTFT reading on my gauge is all over the place. Is this normal? I go from -3 to +3 in a 30 min drive. I'll start my car in a cold situation and it'll be -2.6 or something then by the time I get to work it's +3 or something. Sometimes it'll go to 0.0 after being -1.5. It just bounces around a lot. Is this something I should take up with Vince or can this be signs of mechanical issues?

Send vince another log and have him do some better fine tuning. I would see slight tip in, but never more than like 2.4, and it would go away within 1000 rpms. And my ltfts were always withing +/- 1
LOL i said lash adjusters, a knock sensor or even a vibration. But if your tuned and your trims are 100% and you get tip in kr or speratic kr, make sure its real or false. False happens alot in the LNF due to the knock sensor position and if you get bad gas it happens alot more often then not. (Ask me how i know lol).. But somthing to look at is which cylinder is getting the knock, and this will help you out a wee bit.. Also what does vince have you at afr wise and timing. tHIS WILLHEP US DETERMINE WHATS GOING ON. If your timing is to high in this spot youll get kr. Also if your going partial throttle, and getting into boost most of the time your not getting you fueling for the load. So somthing to look at.

It is winter and our gas sucks during this time of year, so maybe that's it too.
I'll have to ask Vince about Timing and AFR. But I've noticed my AFR at 11.9-12.1 during WOT.
Also if your going partial throttle, and getting into boost most of the time your not getting you fueling for the load Interesting, so don't go into boost, this I have to look at again, but I'm pretty sure I hit around 5psi for it to happen. But the other part of me thinks it not in boost. I'll have to verify tomorrow.
Yeah fueling depends on load so if Ure getting into boost Ure not fueling if Ure 40/50% air loaf and ect along with Tps position. But yes winter gas has a very big roll within the kr.trust me I've seen it a lot .

Okay on my way to work this morning there was absolutely 0KR the whole trip. B
But today after dinner my car got up to 5.1 KR with 0 psi of boost and I was barely on the gas pedal.
So I noticed it's only when my RPMs are low and I shift. So I guess if I put a lot of load on the car, KR, but when I was in upper RPMs no KR. I was going 35-40 MPH and I shifted to second and nothing, shifted to third nothing, but fifth and KR galore. 4.4 and lower. When I shift first to second and I shift earlier second gets KR like crazy.
But like everyone's suggested, I'll get Vince to fine tune it. Thanks for all the help
