Get new tires and for the love of god dont try to top out your car on public roads. IDK if speed limiter is raised from 155 mph which is what it is set at stock.

i said i havent done it cuz of my tires.... i did it when i was stock and hit 162mph... it does not has a 155 limiter... wat i heard was that if you have the big wing your top speed drops about 5mph.... i have the short wing so it goes all the way up to 162mph... thats when i was stock now i want to know with the tune... but i cant do it since i have bold tires.... thats why im asking instead of trying it and crashing cuz of my tires....

Funny, GM has the computer set to 155mph in the TC tune's I've seen. The SS/SC was set to 158mph. Either way, no need to get to that speed. unless you are on a private track. If the spedometer stops at 160mph, how can you tell if it really was 162 legitamitly w/o a gps triangulation. It wasn't.

The ECM begs to differ. Anyone who has HP Tuners can attest it has a limiter at 155 mph. Mine is raied to 199 mph even though there is no way I can or would go that fast right now. There is a speed limter!!!!!. This has been proven and discussed a few times before.

the spedometer went all the way to 160 and my rpm keep on going for about 2000 rpm more....
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...ive/index.html

read the third paragraph and the end.... "Making that grin even wider are a top speed of 160 mph and estimated combined fuel economy of 25 mpg."

I believe and have seen with my own two eyes that the ECM electronically limits the top speed to 155 mph regardless of wing type or year. End of discussion. If the Trifecta tune raises the top speed limiter I can see maybe 170 mph or so being possible. If it went for 2000 rpms more after 160 mph you would be at 180+ mph I think you meant 200 rpms.

dude i top my car at 162... the spedometer stops at 160 but my rpm didnt.... the difference of the wing is the restriciton of the air... if you have a small wing there is less downforce there for more speed

lmao.. OP is a dummy.

the wing on our car is virtually useless. high rise, low rise, doesnt matter.

and you said you were doing 160 at 5k:
the spedometer went all the way to 160 and my rpm keep on going for about 2000 rpm more

The high wing does create quite a bit of drag that apparently does make a 4-5 mph difference in top speed.

You must have meant 200 rpms more. 2000 rpms in 5th gear is about a 40 mph difference You were not going 200 mph.

if you had 2k rpms more.. that would mean you're at 6k. our tachs go up to 8000, redline at 6500, or a little higher if you're tuned. that tells me that you were at 5k, but no more than 6k

i was ABOUT 5750 rpm....ABOUT.... i did it about 6 months ago so i dont remember exactly... you have to remember that 4rth gear top speed is about 140 or 145.... the in 5th gear it drops about 2000 or 3000 rpm... and like terminator said.... every 1000 rpm on 5th is a looot of speed... so yea i was about 5750 rpm...

besides... no hating or nothing like that but how would you know if you drive a LSJ not a LNF... just asking...
