Obviously I don't know for sure, but I'd guess theres a lot more to it than just an XML. It seems unlikely the built in Subaru and Mitsu kernel & flashing tools would work with the E69.

Either way, I await more info and releases

I assume that this will have application only to really high boost situations?

Great work Vince! You further the capabilities of the community even more. Thanks for all your work. Looks like I will be dropping some cash for an updated tune in the near future!

I would think this would be a very wise solution for us guys who want to tune it on our own . allthough selling the XML file he would have no way of licensing it and making a profit that XML file would be all over the interwebz before you could say XML lol

I mean vince is only one guy so if he had a few tuners sign an agreemeant of no distibution of the XML file without a licence they would be subject to severe legal actions, but still man ECU flash and the USB OBD II cable

http://www.tactrix.com/product_info....629ea1d4296531

+ his XML file would be complete win win situation and would divert most of us HPT users to his side of the game but policing it would be the hard part . Software developers could certainly find a way to keep the XML file safe but that takes bucks too ..

How helpful do you think this will be for the people that want to run E-85?

That's a very good question. It may be a requirement... Somewhere I got information that suggested you need about 40% more fuel flow capacity to run E85.

EcuFlash can be licensed for closed source use, which he must've already done if hes using it to make money. Otherwise he'd be breaking the license of the open source version (have to share your code with us gimps). No XML file needed in that case, just hard code it into the app... compile.. done. That would keep 99.98% of the populace out of your work.

The only hurdle you have after that is making sure people arent flashing 69 different VIN's with the same license , but I'm guessing he has that figured out.

I bet Vince just loves us making posts like this!

Off topic, but in doing some research on the Bosch MED9.6 ECU's... did you guys know the newer Ferrari California uses essentially the same setup we do for GDI?

I am pretty sure I have access to E-85 right down the street. If you don't, and want to do a little test, let me know.

HP = Torque X RPM / 5250 so in this example HP = 320 X 7000 / 5250 which is 426.666 whp actually.
No one is making 320 TQ at 7000 RPM with stock turbo or K04.....

Yep, i definitely thing we need to get together and do something here.

Motor is apart right now, getting wiseco pistons for some more power. I'll let you know when it's back together and we can see what we can squeeze out of this bigger turbo.

This is Richard, down in dallas btw.

thats a scientific fact that if you make 320tq at that high of an RPM, you're making 426hp. The formula works 100% of the time... so either you dont make that amount of torque at that RPM (which is the case if you're on stock turbo) or you are somehow maing more power than anyone else on here is on the stock turbo

im gonna take a stab and say you either A: make a PEAK torque of 320tq, or B: are guessing you make 320tq at that RPM because you know that your peak torque is a good amount higher, and are assuming it cant fall off that muc

Vince can do just about anything. Ive spent hours talking to him about hypothetical scenarios such as speed density tuning, 3 bar tuning, etc. setting up for e85 is not difficult. just rescale some things, add some timing, play with closed loop a bit too, and bam.
