trifecta problems
(by knock i mean knock retard.)
i emailed trifecta but vince isnt going to be there till may 1 on vacation or something. and after tune was done and i turned it on just idling it was having a loud knock . and i have always used premium. thanks for the help
Don't wanna come across as an a-hole, but why do people onsist on getting canned tunes?? I just went through a major hassle from a canned tune from a reputative vendor here causing major headaches. Car still isn't right.. I'm hoping to fix it today; it's been almost 1 week of headaches. (Not my car btw.. I would NEVER use a canned tune period)

i only received a red obd2 cable from them and the tune emailed to me. i emailed vince but he said it was not due to the tune. They dont change the fuel mixture at idle and it cant knock at idle. He wants me to datalog it but i dont want to drive my car like that so might of wasted a couple hundred i emailed modern performance but waiting for a response. i have never had problems with my car and never race.
Could also be a bad ECM.. does it run perfectly fine and pull like it should in all gears without the tune file loaded onto it? If not, it could be on its way out. Idk though... just tryin to help :S
I tried uploading a Trifecta over an HpT this past week, and whatever was on that ECM wouldn't go away. Had to do a bunch of relearning just to get the car to start to boot. Once it was started, there was no power most of the time lol. Found the original ECM from the factory, threw it in, uploaded the tune, and Bam! Good to go with the power the car should've had.. no problems, and no more codes. The car was throwing 4 codes that I cleared last week and came back again just last night before we fixed her up. Guy's pretty happy now.

At least I like the off the shelf tunes. They don't break the cars, especially in VW, BMW and Audi canned tunes.
Sounds to me that either you got emailed a bad tune, or you have an underlying issue somewhere else. Do a data log like Vince said, it'll show him exactly what's going on. Getting knock isn't going to do anything to your motor, it'll just pull timing until it stops knocking.
