Trifecta Question

ok, its been awhile since trifecta tune has been running. I assume the general concensus among balt ss/tc guys is that it is the best tune out there for the cash??

but a technical question here, i know that when people first starting getting the trifecta tune there was this initial quick boost spike up to 25psi then a settling down to 21-22. most people confirmed that and even vince did, (he said its nothin to worry about). but as months went by people were getting the trifecta and some were no longer experiencing the initial 25 psi spike and were just going right to 21-22 and staying there.

do u think vince maybe worked out the glitch 25psi spike as the months went by and just never bothered to update it cuz it was never a big deal to begin with??!!

cuz my experience with subie would be a total red flag for a 25 psi spike even if for a fraction of a second. the boxer might blow with that kinda boost?? just a thought, cuz i still wanna get the trifecta.... just ran into a financial situation lately

I don't think you'll be blowing the engine at 25psi during a split-second spike. Stage Kit sensors will go up to somewhere around 29.5psi and a few have already been that high anyway. GM wouldn't have put in 3bar sensors if it was out of the question and the other people haven't blown the engine (although they did later turn down the boost).

Edit: Do you know what the people spiking have as bolt-ons? I'm starting to catch on to something I think... more details later...

wow, comforting to hear bout 29 psi w/o a blow. guess the 2.5 subie boxer is weaker than our 2 liter is some aspects, amazing!

but i guess vince did tune the spike out cuz these 2 other guys have none of that with their recent trifectas

Yea I've never spiked that high, I think 22.5-23PSI is the highest spike I've ever seen, I hold solid between 21-22PSI depending on the weather.

Cresintern, if you come across what people were spiking 25, let me know which ones they were and I'll check out their mods.

There's a chance that there is some non-synergy/clashing of mods going on unrelated to the tune.

I'll post up if I find anything conclusive, like patterns or reoccurrences.

^^Not just same mods but on the same dyno the same day. That sais something about the treifecta tunes.

SMG also went from 238whp to 290whp on a bone stock ss/tc down to the air filter. That kind of gains you won't see from a trifecta tune. But, most experienced lnf tuners should be able to do it.

I Spike to 25 psi, but my tune is a little different then what you guys have, when Vince and i went out in my car to develop this tune there was a spike of 25 psi this is normal and it will not cause any damage at all.

there were some issues that were from the hah cai he's been working on the new lnf and has figured out / fixed alot of things... but it seems the people that put down less then average tuned ss/tc results have the hahn intake

Mine goes to 25PSI on the trifecta tune... never been an issue though... I have had the tune for several months and there are no complaints... the car actually performs better then stock (imo)... Vince worked out a lot of the stock kinks and tailored the tune to my car using the data logging feature... I am fully modded, and I can actually say that being tuned made a big difference in the performance of the car with the mods... keep in mind that Vince can 'tailor' your tune as well using the data logging....totally worth it...

hopefully CIA's cold air intake is better than Hahn's!

I ordered it and expect quality, like the rest of their products.

I love my Trifecta tune. Never spiked on me and its a solid 21-22. On my old psycho tune when I first got it would spike 28-29 then went down to 21-22. I wouldn't worry much cause these engine are capable of taking a beating.
