The K04 is a pretty tough turbo but 30 psi is way out of its efficiency range. It will make 400 wrtq or so but at the expense of a broad powerband. basically the turbo can flow only so much air turning up the boost above 23 psi will make a lot of torque but not much hp.

there isn't a drop in hp it being 100+ when he was dynoing hurts HP .. esp with no extra bolt ons and spinning the turbo way out of it's range. (which he knows it's doing, but this was developed with the intent to help out turbo swaps and such and it just so happened that the car made more power lol )

That is not the case guys. It will not hold 30 psi until the redline.
my bad i swear i thought he said it was holding at least 26 psi at redline.. my fault though..

The pressure drops to 23-24 up top. It will make monster torque but not any more hp than normal because the turbo flows the same maximum at 30 psi as it does at 22psi.

Okay, I just have to ask... is he really calling it Infinifuel now? I was just kidding about that name for it when he first unveiled the Infiniboost idea to CSS.net like a month ago or so.

If he is, that's awesome.

That is a very real possibility at those pressures and shaft speeds.

Definitely going to be beneficial for big turbo folks, but I'd be very careful running that much boost pressure on our K04, it's way out of its threshold.

I made the mistake of doing something similar on my Evo. I was running a 2.3 stroker on E85 with a stock IX 16g @ 30psi....Within 6 months I had shaft play. Apples to oranges comparison yes, but in the end they're both fruit...

yea haha vince has made it very clear to me running 30 isn't good on stock turbo.. he's doing it for testing.. this is also the reason he's doing dual map tunes using competition mode.. because if you want said madman tune every once in a while it SHOULDn't kill it right away.. then again compressor surge/ stall only takes once but you get the point..

Any chance of a different tune combo?

For instance, one mode for dd/fuel savings and another for competition.

and that new program looks cool, he used it to remove some cels from my car and it was SOOO user friendly!!! looks like its going to be a winner
So this new package Vince may be offering is more of an all-around integrated software package and more than just two swtichable tunes through the comp/traction mode button?
