Tune questions
Tune questions
So i was next to my friends 350z today and I pulled on him, I new a 350z vs 2010 Cobalt SS was a close race.. so I was pretty happy about that. Anyways I was going to go GMS1 but ive been reading about PCM swapping and im interested in this. Questions are, with a PCM swap is this a truly undetectable way of going about it?
I only have about 4 months of nice weather here, and I plan to have my stock PCM back for winter/fall/spring.
Im interested in 22 PSI tune (which should be more aggressive than GMS1?) only other mods will be K&N intake.
Does anyone have a clue as to how much HP a stock cobalt @ 22PSI and intake would make at the wheels?
ive spent tonnes of time reading and searching and this is all I came up with
EDIT:
also I was thinking about this

can they be operated in winter?

Around 300 WHP on 22 psi is doable with the right tune. 340ish/390 wtq with some bolt ons. A catless or high flow catted downpipe helps the most with a tune and next would be a proper intake.
You have to tune for Meth.
You have to tune for Meth.

A trifecta switchable will allow you to go to stock with the press of a button if you don't need the extra power. No that being said, my tune has been on since I had it so you will fall in love with the power, guaranteed. I would say DP, intake, and tune are the most effective.
About the meth. Depending on how cold it is where you are, you might need to change the ratio of the meth to water. The lines could freeze in the winter as well. I would say do the meth after you get full bolt ons. It is really good after a turbo upgrade, when you want more boost and a cooler air charge.
I'm sure others will have a take on this as well.
