tune worth it?
In terms of him being in bfe.. yeah trifecta is the best tune to go with ( BECAUSE HPTUNERS IS NT AROUND). aBOUT 20-25% OF MY CUSTOMERS WERE PREVIOUSLY TRIFECTA and the reason they traded is most hated the fact they would have to wait days apon days for a revision on the tune and they all felt someone elses car i tuned and basically compared the two and said yep.. **** this **** ******James Will you tune me!!!! I mean trifecta is all fine and dandy in the aspect of it being a email type system, but **** man, Do you really want to wait atleast to get your **** running okish. It takes more then one log to finish a car up!!!!
The longest ive ever waited was like day, if you ask him if he is available for tuning that day and he is he responds very quickly(usually within 30 minutes) and gives updates fast, if you dont it still isnt that bad of a wait(like I said a day atmost). They are both good in their own respects but the OP lives in Nova Scotia, not a lot of reputable tuners there lol so I think Trifecta is better for him.

Yeah i get yuh, but i have tuned many guys and they are all on constant boost and do spikes no dips. Oly issues is one of my guys is running the stock ic and i gave him 24lbs and we did about 2 logs and bam, blew he stock IC HAHAHAH... Hey its all good, I have ton of guys running 24 on stock ic without a issue but hey i guess its a win or lose situation with the gm IC lol!!!!
Plastic end-tanks, great thinking GM lol, luckily I have the Treadstone one which has held up well, but I think it is blocking the radiator from air flow cause on long pulls the coolant will sometimes hit 225 degrees.
First off trifecta is not as good as.hptuners.... Both have there.flaws. Hptuners is a actual tuner.datalogging and ect. Trifecta is just vince and it could take ******* months to get one car running right.... So I? The aspect.of which tnimg source most will say hptuners,......

i think it seems like trifecta is easier for me its only a tune for now just to make me boost higher, since im not modded and wont be for a bit and theres a Lnf special its only 200 bucks for a tune so i think im just gonna get that. just wondering if anyone has any experience with the selectable tune where you can drive stock tune but then turn traction off and have the tune? it seems like a good idea because my cars stock and really only want the tune for when i wanna eat someone
the select a tune is a good inventio, and since you have no hptuners around you then go with trifecta. But get it datalogged and do not let vince take advantage over the email crap... Cal him and make him do his job so your car gets done with a quickly manner!!!!!..
so i got my 08 ss/tc about a month ago its bone stock just wondering if it would be worth it to get a trifecta tune for more boost while the cars stock? i might mod it but not for another year or so and im not sure what the mods will be i kinda got sick of the whole loud exhaust sound so im not sure if i would get any exhaust parts anyway just looking for some comments on if i should get tunned or not

but to the best of my knowledge, although no service bulletin has been issued, some dealers are now looking for hidden tunes...often the tune's ID code is pictured off of the techII and emailed to GM to verify that everything is ok...
Trifecta is a great option if you don't want to deal with:
- buying your own copy of HPtuners (aprox $600iirc)
- possibility of a bad tuner
IF you have a local trifecta dealer this saves you on even spotting the deposit in the tuner.
You could always ask Vince since I know three people including myself who are not on his list of dealers...
The third option is using the superchips or what ever that device is... it came out before the stage1 kit, and for a spell was popular here... (this would probably be the cheapest route to go)/
#1 You're right, Vince isn't a supporting member himself. But there are supporting vendors on here that sell his products. You are potentially taking business away from them.
#2 You're stating you're OPINION. I have never had a problem getting work done with Vince. I have however in the past had GREAT difficulties getting my car worked on by a local tuner. It's a lot easier to send an e-mail then it is to drive and meet someone. As for promoting yourself, I'll let your own quote answer that question. You know, the one where you stated that 20-25% of your customers came from Vince.... That's called promoting.

You may be a great tuner, I'll never know. But you are quite a ******* douche bag sometimes.....
Want to buy a K&N SRI? I had it on for about 9 months, worked great, zero issues then started having hesitation/bucking problems. Had nothing to do with the intake but took it off anyways so the dealership couldn't blame it. Still have the issue after 5 visits and 2 cels
IF GMSTAGE1 CHECK SENSORS, IF NOT CHECK COMPRESSION AND LEAKAGE TEST if good, check coild packs and injectors, if good check spark plugs, if good, check throttle body, if good check fuel filter, if good, check ecm and connections everywhere!
PS: They never checked either sensor even though I pleaded for them to. Love the car, hate trying to get it fixed
Hey Jordster, I've been having some of the same issues as you do lately .. except I only have gm stage 1 kit..
I was thinking it might have something to do with my dejon spring or a dirty maf..
You guys thinking that it could be the stage 1 sensors?..
OO.. and were do you guys see 200$ for a trifecta tune.. I only see 350$..

@jpower
Already checked the MAF and it's clean. My boost gauge would read Data Not Available also, the car was bucking really bad when I brought it in and now it's back to being slight hesitation. I believe it's the MAP sensor in the lower charge pipe but seeing as it's under warranty, I'll let the experts who got their certification out of a code reader box figure it out.
I noticed too that my AFR was all over the place, bouncing from 9 back to 16, eventually leveling out at 14-15.
