turbo cobalt tunes
They sent it off, just dont remember when exactly they did it. It had to be before they got the new one, cuz they cant get a new one until the send the old out. At least thats what I was told.
Given the low miles and boost its pretty likely it was a factory defect. Probably would have failed well before the warranty ran out either way. Your mod whether they found it or not didn't cause the failure and they did the right thing.
I dont really care about warranties honestly, I just so happened to luck out with my car last year. But If they didnt cover it thats just an opportunity for me to upgrade.
Any car I own Im gonna mod so what the hell lol

I don't get how they could tell anything was tuned when you haven't actually touched the ECU..
And as far as them diagnosing it was from abuse, they can pull that with or without a tune. Their first move is to deny deny deny, they never want to pay out for a new motor. So at that point you are F'd regardless.
We're just talking about how to show no tune, everything else is a per dealer kinda thing

Trust me, im not at all arguing with anyone from this site. But i do know how to look and inspect if a car was tuned. It will show signs, i mean having a spare ecm kinda helps but if the engine blows and gm wants to they will show you proof of how it happened And basically laugh in your face. A stock car with no tune will show signs of usage differently then a tuned car. One occurance, when i worked at toyota i had a toyota celica come in for a cracked piston. Well when it came in i seen it was lowerd, and the exaust mani has been taken off before along with the maf and ect. and i seen the cars ecm has been taken out before as well. I looked at the previous history of car and there wasnt anything popping out at me. So what i did is i took the engine apart, (I have taken a ton of these apart btw) and inspected it. Remembering what all the other engine internalls looked like i was able to visually see the car was once tuned. How:::::::: because on a stock 1ZZ-FE the pistons would show signs of burn pattern of the spark and fuel, but with the tuned 1ZZ-FE it showed larger displacement of fuel and burn. Which would mean, either somhow the fuel pressrue jumpped very very very very high, and caused a real rich condition, or it was tuned. Well i did a pressure check and ect, and it was fine. And after asking multiple times if this car was tuned, and him saing no we simply asked him, would you want to go to court because we show proof right here. And the customer said no, the car was tuned and was supercharged. So The part of finding if the car was tuned or ect is hard but it can be found.
LOL.. JAPAN = cheap labor WHICH MEANS ****. HAHAHAAHAHAHA im jk.. So your a tuner lol? I never knew that.....

This what my point exactly.. He's just asking how to show no tune, and you confirmed they can't and won't be able to tell when switching ECU's. And I agree, if they want to they will do whatever to prove you wrong and deny the claim lol. We're saying the same thing...
LOL ........ Switching ECMS will show no sign of a tune on the ecm side but what i said earlier is whats the problem........I ate sky chilli for the first time yesterday. And wtf have i been missing.
