i know that turbos have a blowoff valve and i do know quite a bit about turbos but why do some turbos just have the whistle and not have a loud blowoff valve sound and then some cars have a really loud blowoff valve that is really loud and noticeable..like a wshhhh sound.

 

because some people use a loud blow off valve, and some people don't. It's like saying how come some people have a loud exhaust, and some people don't.

 

lol.. doesnt seem like you know too much about turbos by the way you wrote all that..

aftermarket blow off valves.. (i.e. HKS) are designed to make a noticeable sound difference from other BOVs

 

and some people ( the ones who have bov so loud u can hear it all the way across town, just want to be noticed. I call that rice.

 

I don't think it's rice at all. But some cars have a recirculative BOV also so you really don't hear anything but maybe a little spool.

no reasonably sounding ones arnt rice just the ones that sound like the airbrakes off a semi are. lol

My stock on is pretty loud, but i like it. If u would hear the one on the 240sx around here u would know what i mean, thats just anoying.

i love the turbo spool more than the blowoff. mine screams like a banshy most days. sometimes it doesnt for some reason.
