Personally, I see no need for a timer. Just let it idle for a min or so after a hard run...or better yet, drive it around at cruise speed for a couple min before parking.
Thanks man. And yeah they may not be needed... but it was $35, and I wanna look cool leaving my car running haha

Does anyone ever check the date something was posted before they respond to it?

This thread was resurrected from the dead so a guy could get instructions on how to install it.

Is that not what a forum is for... to help people?... No one told you to take time out of your life to read this, nor did I ask for your sarcasm.
If I posted a new thread... then I'm sure you would b**ch about not using the search function so at least I didnt do that, huh?

Wonder if you could disable the VATS through VCM Editor and make it work lol, i know the option is there to enable or disable, but dunno if it works or not.

nvm eric says it works if you wire it right....who knows then haha.

In HPT vcm editor there's a place you can enable/disable the Vehicle Anti Theft System (VATS) which sounds like what godly was talking about was preventing him from doing it right. Iunno if it actually works though.

Nah man that wasn't for you lol. I should have done that a little differently.

As far as a harness for my timer, should I just get a universal one? I dont see anything for a Cobalt on HKS's site.

why is it so hard to get a answer here. Its not your car, and some of us have aftermarket turbos and would like to put them on. If you dont know how to do it dont write anything. Every thread about turbo timers has people saying you dont need it. save your time and dont write anythin if you cant answer the question.

I'm glad the first post was about the word timer being spelled wrong. How dumb do you have to be.

besides. Look at the first 7 post.. 1. the person is asking a question. the next 6 are pretty much spamming the thread. Not giving him answers. Whats the point of it of posting here. When i searched for this there are almost 3 pages of people asking about turbo timers. and i think i have found only 3 or 4 post that gave an answer. Everyone else is just saying you dont need it and writing a half page saying why you dont need it. dont you think it would just save alot of time if everyone told him how to do it. I do agree that with a stock turbo you dont need one. But if you have plans to upgrade ur turbo to an oil cooled one that i would rather put it on before i get it then after......thats just me..

is your car stock turbo? you dont need one spend the 100 bucks elseware or put it twords something that will benefit your car. the stock turbos oil and watercooled.

do you have a big turbo? if yes its not a bad idea to get one BUT its poinltess because you cannot really bypass the audio crap that after you cycle the key off all the audio and power stays on until you open the door.....so you still will have to wait in your car for it to time down...

theres no avalable harness' buy a universal and be ready to go through some wires on the car itself. have a professional install if it you have never done anything of the sort.
