turbo whistle!
wait so you said it would whistle on idle and sounded like a diesel. but you just made a thread wondering how to get the turbo to whistle? lol

thats not ricer, thats awesome, i wish my car did that. u should have heard my talon when i didnt have a downpipe on her, lol all u heard was turbo spool, was louder letting off the gas then spooling it up, was so sad when downpipe went on and it was all gone

I have made a thread months ago asking... now i am stating that i have found the sound i was looking for! haha
in all honestly... it sounds exactly like the srt4 in the OP on the down spool..

ya you can definitively hear the dv in your car. turbo flutters pretty good when your air intake falls off to :P
i havent had a chance to hear it spool though. if you want to make the turbo louder ditch the stock air intake, its designed to make it as quiet as possible it seems... go for a k&n sri

The sound he's after is the idle spool. You can replicate the sound by humming while you whistle. It's achieved best with big ass turbos and straight through turbo back exhaust systems. My old turbo spec v had that sound when all I had was a downpipe. Sounded awesome.

anyways! i was up at turbo xs they have a couple new exhausts to release soon... not sure if i can release it for them or not... but anyways... i tried one out with a res.. but no muffler... and it sounded just like the srt4 in the OP!
i kid you not that turbo was insanely loud! the second i turned it on i could hear it....
now i have 2 resonators. but still no muffler. exhaust is not quite as loud. a lil deeper.. and you can still hear the turbo whistle... but just barely....
but just saying... with one of the new turbo xs exhausts out for the LNF... i heard that turbo downspool sooo nice

not too sure when it will be coming out... but keep an eye out for any Turbo XS exhaust threads that will be popping up later this week or next week at the latest i think its safe to say.. lol
