Thanks for the info. Why do you recommend not using used turbos? Even a pulled one from a non running car, just to fix my smoke problem and due to the tight/lack of budget on my end at the moment? I will give zzp a call and ask but on their site the new zo4 is i think around $500.

Hey, as i said im newer to the turbo seen so i have alot of questions. lol. I am just double checking, curious why would it only need seals still? obviously i would rather that be the fix since thats cheaper than a new turbo. But i just want to know the for sure solution to this problem. So i can fix it completely and get my full boost/HP back!

Thanks

How many miles? Usually when the turbo goes bad, first the seals start to go. I don't know for the long haul if rebuilding the turbo lasts very long as they are kind of a replacement part. You may want to check out turbobay as they make a k04r that will give you a little more power and you can use your turbo as a core. Especially if you are looking at close to $500. Most guys anymore who buy turbo cars upgrade to a bigger turbo, and spending $1200-2000 on a setup isn't unheard of. That's why some may poke fun at you for $500. Sometimes you can get a used one for $200-300 but you never really know how long it will last.
