Thats part of letting inexperienced people mess with your 20,000 dollar car, not a good idea. Let someone who knows what they are doing or have a company do it. I think it is a bad idea any average person can tune with HP tuners that has no idea what they are doing.

You just have to make sure that your tuner actually knows how to tune this car.

Actually there is a bulletin out from gm for that problem, i found it when i was working at a chevy dealership. Gm says to tank the valves and soak them in fuel injuctor solution, which requires removing the cylinder heads. I found the best way is to have a fuel induction service to clean the carbon off the valves. It worked wonders on my cobalt.
