upgraded compressor wheel

Anyone experiment with the upgraded compressor wheel for the stock turbo. I saw the upgraded wheel on a site, don't remember which one but has anyone tested this?

bump I am curious about this as well, might be a much easier and effective upgrade compared to doing a complete turbo swap!

^^^ Yep, I bought mine from there for my car. Unfortunately I never got to put mine in since I crashed my car . I know of another guy that I talked to on here that had installed it. He had some surging issue, but those were resolved once he got a tune. I would suggest that you get the Turbo upgrade, Get a Trifecta tune for 27psi, if you have supporting mods even better, and you should see gains. Especially with torque. My plane was to get the upgrade, ZZP valve spring upgrade, supporting mods and a tune that would raise the Fuel Injection PSI. I believe that the KO4+ flows around 38-39lbs min of air. So though its not a huge difference you should see gains. The good thing is that you do keep the quick spool that a larger turbo does not have.

Would it be worth the 800 to get the upgraded wheel then? Sounds like it would make good power tho either gona do this wheel or zzp's turbo kit anyone experiment with Dejon's kit?

That depends what you're going for. If you want to keep a near-stock turbo setup and keep the response and such while getting some improvement, then sure. Personally I like the idea of keeping everything hooked up and looking like stock.

If you're going for HP per dollar value, then $800 can get you a new turbo or most of a new one.

The wheel upgrade is nice because it will appear stock. God forbid something happens to the car, Im sure you could bring it to the dealer and they wouldn't even be able to tell!

I believe that wheel is good for another 40whp, ~380whp on a bolted LNF with a good tune!

either way you will need a tune...so pick the option best for you. But the stock k04 still imo is inefficient 350whp+ so if you want big power get a new turbo.

And be able to pull all the way past 7k rpms if needed. I would raise my rev limiter to like 7k-7.2k rpms if I got a KO4+. Might as well make more use of the upgrade imo.

I already talked to Vince about this upgrade he said it would be no problem to get it tuned right.

I wouldn't go past 7K still, I remember reading in the ZZP thread that the stock valve springs will bind above that.

Maybe. I have gone to 7400 quite a few times though.

Meh... Supertechs/ZZPs ftw

I like the coil redundancy of the Supertechs though.
