Very annoying rattle fixed!

For 6 or more months now I have had an awful rattle from my drivers door. It was getting worse and worse and would happen at any speed. It almost sounded like a marble bouncing around in my door at the slightest movement, even very subtle bumps would cause it.

It took me a while, but I finally narrowed it down to possibly being the door latch. I had my car in the dealer yesterday for the Charge Piping recall, and while it was in had them check this out. I didnt expect them to do anything, I figured Id get the typical "We couldnt hear it, blah blah blah."

However, I was very pleased when I got the call saying the car was done and they had fixed the rattle. They replaced the striker on the driver's door jamb and no more rattle.

I just figured Id throw this out there in case anyway else is experiencing this. It truely was awful, because it was right behind your ears the whole time. I was ready to smash the door!

I have a birdie chirping from that area, I'll check it out. I thought it was the rear seatback latch for awhile, but that wasn't it.

i had that to, took off the defogger covers, fixed some of it. but the other day by buddy was in the back seat, and hit pushed against the side trim, he said it snapped in, after that, no more rattle. try pushing in the trim. if u have to go back there sit with ur feet across the whole seat and use ur feat to push on it. if it pops in im sure ull be good. im down to the anoying driver side seatbelt rattle where it attaches to the trim, which is once in a while, and sometimes i get this matalic spring sounding rattle. gotta figure that one out.

My car is very quiet now. All I have left is the annoying sunroof rattle over bumps. I just open it a crack and it goes away lol

Silicone lube on the sunroof gasket is good for about a month of no squeaks or rattle.

I thought you were going to say they found part of a metal rivot rolling around in the door. Seen that on Cobalts before.

Haha thats what I almost expected, but I had already pulled the door panel off to check a while back because thats seriously what it sounded like.

Im still glad I have my sunroof...just need to keep it maintained.
