voiding waranty
Not really lol
I actually talked to someone who was getting something on his ss/tc fixed, his is tuned and he was covered, and the guy I spoke with was the head of the service dept. My dealer is really cool and that's where my family has gotten their cars. I understand not all dealers are like that.

Further example:
Dealer: "You installed a cold air intake, with no filter on it and it hydrolocked your engine after you parked in a creek and left the motor running"
Result = You're screwed
Dealer: "You installed these H&R lowering springs on your car, and it caused your trunklid to fall off"
Result = You're not screwed
Seriously, this thread is embarrasing. Everyone needs to shut up. You're all so tough........online.
1st, doesn't matter who's right because the fact is this thread shouldn't even exist.
2nd, read number one... use the f*cking search tool. This thread sounds like something from the balts first came out..............IN 2005!!! This question has been answered
3rd, read numbers one and two. The debate will continue to go one no matter what. You know why? Because it's hit or miss. A mod can void your warranty if it is the catalyst. And a dealer can also choose to blame a mod for a problem.
4th, if you've read this far then listen up and listen good. If you are worried about your warranty, you shouldn't be modding. The quest for more power requires more mods... end of story. Go big or go home. End of story. You either like how the dealer says your car is allowed to run.......or you grow a set like the rest of us, mod the **** out of it, and **** the dealer because you can build it better than them.
/end.

ss/tc's, are DEF nice but not some ungodly gift from the heavens.
ss/sc's, are DEF nice but not some ungodly gift from the heavens.
we're all on the same team here lose the macho attitude and put that bullshit towards something worthwhile.
hmm, if he was the one that put the two engines together, wouldn't he in fact know it all?

Here is my way of thinking.....
All they gotta do is claim abuse and your warranty is gone.
Putting aftermarket parts on the SS/TC IS NOT going to GAIN ANYTHING unless you tune for it. And it has already been stated, that the bosch ecu in the ss/tc is a tattle tale ecu and that there is no way around GM or a dealership to not know that you played with the ECU. GM said they were voiding any cars with modified ecu's.
So....if you put the parts on, you are still going to make the rated 260/260 unless you tune, and if you tune, then you can kiss your warranty goodbye.
Yet another reason to buy an LSJ. LOL. Bring on the hate.
