Depends what your getting warrantied. If it's something you did to the car obviously there not going to cover it. Same dealers are more forgiving than others as well when it comes to aftermarket parts.

But so far nothing has needed to be fixed under warranty for me.

there is low compression in cylinder four, they checked it and called me asking did i modify the ecu at all. He stated they havent checked it, but y ask? Also he made the statement of "tons of aftermarket stuff" which all there is to the obvious eye is an intake and injen piping. But the problem is that blue tinted smoke appears after accelrating while in boost. Does not smoke at idle, or out of boost driving for that matter

they ask because if you tune it and the motor goes, its on you, not them. They also assume since you have some aftermarket stuff on it...it may have a tune.

Which looking at your sig it does and I'm going to assume the tune killed the motor. Yay for Trifecta.

Tune did it, it's coming out of your pockets.

Ive kept my car stock, and basically it allows you to not allow them to **** around with your warrenty. If you dont keep your car stock, then prepair to get screwed. But they have the right to at that point more or less.

I mean, if you lower your car, and your stereo stops working. Probably will still warrenty it..
You change your stereo, and your suspension breaks.. probably will still warrenty it..

Ive had my car in 6 times now, in 6 months ive had it. And every time they try to make it seem like my fault, and I just basically say 'im not paying for ****, it has warrenty'. lol

Two questions for you just out of curiosity:

1. What was the result of this, did they fix your engine under warranty or not?
2. When you got the tune from Trifecta did you take the time to properly log it and send logs back to Vince?

GMS1 tune here... no other mods... so far all replaced under warranty: Engine, Rear brake pads and rotors, clock spring for airbag, tire pressure sensor, small rubs in paint above doors, soon replacing the ignition tumbler..

none of it i had to fight for.. just gotta find a dealership that wants your business..

My car is completely stock and I cracked two IC's within a month. They gave me the run around for a while and asked me if it was tuned or modified in any way. I told them it wasn't and that they were welcome to look for anything they wanted to. I had to call Chevrolet and put in a complaint, but they finally fixed it. It turns out that it was their mechanic installing the coldside piping incorrectly. He clamped the coldside pipe on to the IC too far away from the barb on the end of the IC pipe, so the coldside pipe kept slipping and pushing the IC forward when letting off WOT. The pushing forward would crack the endtank where the support bracket was. What a pain.

It all depends on your dealer, really. Some are cool and some just think you're lying about mods because you have a turbo car.
