We need more power captain

Alright so this is the scenario. I currently have the following bolt ons- dejon intake and intercooler piping, crazy steve intercooler, synapse catless downpipe, hahn catback, interceptor gauge, hks BOV, and trifecta tuned (the original one)
Ok so i dynoed i believe 293whp and 323wtq like 8 months ago and after buying a house and getting settled in I have money to start modding again and want more power. I have been thinking of trying to tune myself with HP tuners. I actually bought a tuning book from Borders and understand the basics like lambda, spark, and more basic stuff. I also know there is a HP tuners forum that i have looked on a few times and know there are people to help me but here is my question: I have an HKS BOV and it runs fine(never thrown a CEL) but it does run a little rich when you switch gears. Clear image has the MAF relocation piping that i might get if i stick with Trifecta but would it be better to just take the BOV off and use the factory BPV? I will go to HP tuners and run the factory BPV if the horsepower difference is that much between trifecta and HP tuners. Is Hp tuners really that much better i guess is the main question/

There are several LNF's running the stock BPV and making 300+hp. I would go back to the stock BPV, and then get HP tuners.

I'm pretty surprised at how low your numbers are. I have Synapse IC, ZZP catless DP, Agency Power cat-back, and the pill mod and I'm making a bit more power then that.

Out of curiosity where did you buy this book. I too am a little interested in learning a bit more about tuning.

Switch back to the BPV and get a retune. Should pick up around 20whp and 40wtq. HPT would be a great choice but unless you can jump on the dyno all the time like T2 or some of these other guys its hard to really know exactly what is working best for your car as far as peak numbers and power curves IMO.

No one around here respects dyno numbers. they all flame you with excuses why you got the numbers you did. Next thing you know they will be calling BS on 1/4 times too. I can hear it now "the track was sloped" or "13.0 you had a head wind, elimnate that and you'll run 12.0!" LOL But seriously you can get good numbers from HP tuners to tell if your getting real world gains from logging 60-100 times and other stuff. I like HP tuners and it's always fun to just go tinker with it. Trading tunes with other poeple who have your car to compare tunes is cool to.

i have a BOV, and now im back to stock, the BOV just seemed to be making my car sputter under light acceleration, sold it because i felt it was doing more harm then good, even recirculated into my dejon intake, it wound up being both my O2 sensors going bad, and i dont know if that causes it from the running rich between shifts.

But i replaced them, run stock BPV, spike a few higher PSI but then evens out to the same. but i really do miss the sound. but i enjoy the comfort factor with the stock one and the dealer trips feeling better as well

I thought that youve dynod the car more than that. I forgot about being able to log 60-100 times and what not. Can you choose what speeds you can log or is that the only one?

Why wouldnt you datalog? Besides the initial upload it took like 2-3 more tweeks to get mine straightened out even though the first upload felt great the datalogs must have shown different

You can log whatever & whenever your laptop lets you. I logged a 60-120 pull in 10.01 sec.
