Nice, did you have to drill any holes or was it an easy fit down there and what were the gains, feel any different in top end or lower end power or what?

No holes to drill. Fits perfectly. Somewhat gains but not so much. need a tune!

A tune for a custom cold air intake? The new SS isn't that "touchy" is it?

It's not that. The ECU uses several different sensors to calculate hp and does it's best to keep it at 260. So a tune is necessary to remove those restrictions. Plus get some power while you're at it.

If I get an Intake or make one myself I'm definately gonna get it tuned eventually. Tune = more HP if you ask me.

I just ordered all the parts(minus a filter) from jegs, $101.xx shipping and all

Summit would have probably been cheaper, BUT they were out of stock on the MAF sensor mount, its only a few buck difference whether you get them from Jegs, Summit, or Sfxperformance

do you have to modify any of the tubing to get it to fit? or does it all match up as is... in other words, how hard is the MAF to keep from setting a code

if you ordered the part from jegs. you shouldnt have a prob at all. i havent gotten any codes. the part from jegs comes with 5 diff fittings and the one that is flat like the maf fits right in perfectly. the only thing that sucks is you have to jack it up and take most of the wheel well off. but other than that its a piece of cake!

So the cone filter won't fit down through where the snorkel is? Is the stock jack sturdy and easy to use? Did you loosen the lugs before jacking up and torque them after letting it back down?

I ordered all the parts today and they are suppose to be in around noon on Thursday. Jegs told me 10 days to up to 3 weeks so I went autozone for 2 day delivery.

Thanks for the parts list! You in central Ohio?

why did you remove the wheel? can't you just put the filter through the hole the snorkel is in and go from there???

and i'll be waiting a while on jegs

Also, do you have any noise with the cai hitting the bay walls or anything?

Since the car runs off a desired MAF air load, I think custom fabbing a CAI is a bad idea.
