17x9 +38 with 3mm spacer here. My 275's clear the strut just barely and poke out the fender ever so slightly. the pic is with a 5mm spacer.

Good to know! That's the info I was hoping for.
What tires are they? And the 3mm spacer gives you how much clearance? Just a couple mm?

Yes, the 3mm spacer gives just enough clearance. These are 275/40/17 Nitto NT555R drag radials.

You might as well go 15" with a full on slick if you'll be doing runs mainly at the track.

did he ever say 440 WTRQ? He just said 440 tq. Lots of us are at or about 440 crank tq. As far as tires, check my thread in my sig, I managed to run a 12.7 on them, and they have lasted ~25k miles, bout to swap them out. They are 235/40/18 and I am on coils

Not the best looking wheel but very light at 18lbs each and a small spacer with them should clear lsj brakes.

He's wanting a 15-16" wheel with 8-9 inches of width. Those would be nice tho.

im wondering if 15" wheels will clear the LSJ calipers also. hmmmmm. i might save the risk and go 16" wheels i found these at 20lbs a piece which still isnt bad, still ugly but its not like im driving on them lol.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/16x8-16-Wheels-5x110-ESM-RACING-001-CHEVY-CADILLAC-PONTIAC-SAAB-SATURN-/251265096508?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item3a80911b3c#ht_2199wt_932
my question is, is the 35mm offset with a 5mm spacer going to clear everything, we have a 40mm offset right?

michelin pilot super sport 265 - 35- 18.

great compromise ! great longevity.
very very light weight for size, (weight goes way up when going bigger. than 265.)
great load and speed rating.

better cg. & similar gearing to oem.

[slightly taller, very close to oem diameter]

run 34 psi cold.

quiet/ confident/ robust/ no drama............

great coefficient of friction.

cheers ///

Just got RE11 on the rear. Can't spin my tires in 1st gear any more on gms1. I was able to spin through 1st no problem and periodically break traction in 2nd on concrete with the stock tires. If I wasn't perfectly straight under wot in 2nd the rear end would kick out, now just hooks up and goes. I can't believe the difference in grip and these are still only 245/45/18. These would probably make 2nd gear useable for you fwd fellas.

Gosh seriously thinking this thing will run under 13 with tires and tune. gms1 was 13.8 @ 98. Cant wait!
